Description

Composite natural whetstone for wood grinding shops and the like.

The material for wood grindstones and the like (sandstone) is known to occur in layers, whereby the individual layers often differ significantly in grain size and hardness. Attempts have therefore already been made to assemble such whetstones in the axial direction, especially with a larger disc thickness and especially with the so-called roll shape. In this way one can rather bring together a structure that is uniform throughout the entire stone by looking for the individual disks of the same type.

The present invention consists in a connection of the partial disks, which is characterized in that the abutting end faces are connected by tongues and grooves arranged in the form of sectors of the same size.

This type of connection has the important advantage over the familiar that the largest possible areas are used to connect the individual panes and the stress on the elevations on the individual parts is as uniform as possible, but in particular the production of the mortise is simplified and facilitated.
 EMI1.1
namely according to FIG. 1 in a side view based on the roller shape, according to FIG. 2 in a single disk. a is the one, b the second, c the third stone. On each of those surfaces with which the stones collide, i.e. according to the drawing on surfaces al, bl, b2 and c1, half of a coupling is worked out, consisting of sector journals d and grooves e.

In the example shown, three such pegs and grooves are assumed, but the protection also applies to only two or more than three such sector-shaped pegs.

The tenons of one surface are pushed into the grooves of the other surface, after which
 EMI1.2
As usual, cement or the like is used as a binder.
