a cross-section through the wall of such a body, in which the type of overlap of the outer veneer layers is expressed.

In Fig. 1, the line a, a is thought to lie in the image plane. A middle part of the body of the same profile joins this line. As can already be seen here, the body consists of several layers of veneer. According to FIG. 3, five such layers have been chosen because good results have been achieved with this number. While the interior veneer

lays one veneer over the other. Point c6 is an approximate picture of what these joints look like after gluing under pressure. The wood has pressed each other into one another, and the result is that after sanding and polishing these areas, nothing at all can be seen of a joint.

In Fig. 1 it is roughly indicated how the method is used. The all-round curvature of the body naturally requires the veneer layers to split if they are to be forced into the curve. The line d, d indicates schematically that the gaping gaps in the veneer must be laid out again with a series of gussets underneath. After the joints have been sanded off, there is of course no longer any trace of a line d, d to be seen. Corresponding relationships are shown at e. The only difference is that the veneer does not gape apart there, rather the two edges of the slot overlap in the manner shown. These cases are also made invisible by the new procedure.

Finally, at f the normal case is indicated schematically, where d. in one veneer is attached to the other.
