An arm 13 extends downward from the multi-way tap 2, which arm can easily be swung around the lamp by means of the ignition stick in order to open or close the gas outlet by turning the tap. The channels in the tap 2 are expediently designed so that when the arm 13 is turned up to a stop 14, the gas is fed to the ignition line 4 and through the branches of the same to the burners 8 and 9, whereupon by inserting the igniter into the lamp through the Opening 7 the gas flowing out of the burner 8 can be easily ignited through the opening 11 and the gas flowing out of the burners 9 is also immediately ignited by the pre-ignition flame that forms.
If the arm 13 is then rotated further in the same direction, the gas outlet into the pipe 3 is also opened. The gas now flowing out of the burners 5 ignites immediately at the ignition flames 9 and makes the glow bodies 6 glow. If the arm 13 is up to his

all the flames go out and only the burners 5 are still fed. Conversely, when the arm 13 is rotated in the opposite direction, the gas passage to the pipe 4 is first opened again, with the gas flowing out at the pilot burners igniting at the lighting burners. If the arm is then moved further, the flames go out because the passage to the pipe 3 is now closed.
You can now let the pilot flames burn in order to re-ignite the light burner later, or the lamp is completely disabled by moving the arm 13 back into its initial position.
The arrangement can be modified in various ways, depending on the particular design of the lamp, e.g. For example, the pilot burners 9 can be completely absent if only one or two incandescent bodies are present in the lamp and the flame emanating from the burner 8 is directed to the Bunsen burner 5 concerned. The arrangement can also be implemented by appropriate distribution of the gas so that the incandescent bodies can be made to glow in groups. The air inlet opening 11 to the pipe 10 can be controlled with a
