Oesterreichische PATENTSCHRIFT ? 8436.
CLASSE 26 : GAS-BEREITUNG UND -BELEUCHTUNG. b) Gas-Lampen und-Brenner. ARLT FRICKE ix BERLIN.

<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
welche dann dauernd brennt.

Austrian PATENT LETTERING? 8436.
CLASSE 26: GAS PREPARATION AND LIGHTING. b) Gas lamps and burners. ARLT FRICKE ix BERLIN.
Gas incandescent lamp.
The present invention relates to a gas incandescent lamp which in the ear also gives the impression that the flame is burning downwards.
The supply of the gas to the burner takes place inside the cylinder, which requires a very substantial preheating of the gas: moreover, the lamp is designed without a tap. When unscrewing a burner from the line, the same se! bursting so that unintentional gas leakage is excluded.
The accompanying drawing illustrates the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 is a section through the lamp in elevation and FIG. 2 is a top view of the guide ring.
EMI1.1
is pushed, which is hung in the hook l. The burner tube has a gallery o equipped with openings m which receives the cylinder p. A guide ring q is placed on the upper edge of the cylinder, by means of which an exactly concentric and stable arrangement of the cylinder is achieved. The upper end of the gas pipe b ends in a widened part 1 'which has an external thread and is in the
EMI1.2
After screwing on the pipe b, a ball t lifts up and thus allows the gases to escape.
At the bottom of the lamp there is a screw M, which is an opening
EMI1.3
slightly above the burner mouth on one of the two branches c d of the gas line.
If the lamp is screwed to the gas supply line, then the stop s pushes the ball t up in the socket a; the gas thus has free access into the pipe b and from here to the branches c d through which it passes to the closed space e. If one now lifts the screw ll, so that the opening v of the plate ic is exposed, then the gas passes up through the opening and, mixed with air, draws towards the outlet point of the burner at i; the flame is lit in a known manner above the ring q; on this occasion a long flame is also lit at opening x,

which then burns continuously.
If the screw u is tightened, then the gases are prevented from escaping through the opening v and consequently the flame is extinguished, but there is still gas in the branches c d so that the jet flame finds food. If the lamp is now to be lit, it is sufficient to release the screw u without using an external pilot flame.
Since the gas supply line is arranged inside the cylinder, the gas is preheated very vigorously. The heat of the flame is so great that the insulation

is unscrewed.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Gas incandescent lamp, in which the gas supply pipe inside the cylinder is divided into several lateral branches located next to the incandescent body, characterized in that the branch lines cd, one of which is provided with an ignition flame opening x, pass laterally through the upper part of the bunscnrobres and inside the Bunsen tube open into a chamber e provided in a known manner at the bottom of the burner, the gas inlet opening of which can be regulated by means of a screw u.
