Fig. 3 zeigt einen Schnitt gemäss Linie 111-111 in Fig. 2.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a device for dewatering pulp suspensions, in particular pulp suspensions, the web being guided between two bands and the bands converging in a wedge zone and a side seal of the wedge zone being provided.
EMI1.1
run towards each other and thus generate a constant increase in pressure, sealing strips are used at the side of the wedge zone. These generally consist of a steel strip, in which a plastic film or strip is attached by means of a clamping strip. The ends of the plastic film or strip then lie against the sieves and seal the gap from the surroundings. The strips must be made of a suitable material, preferably steel, because of the pressures and possibly also temperatures that occur.
The whole thing is problematic at the end of the wedge, since the steel strips (support unit) only up to a gap height of approx.
15 mm can be sufficient to avoid destruction of the sieve (s). Due to the high pressures at the end of the wedge, material to be drained escapes.
The aim of the invention is therefore to prevent the escape of material to be dewatered even at high pressures.
This is done according to the invention in that the sealing strips of the side seal are provided with extension pieces at the wedge end on the sides, which extend to a wedge gap height between the bands of 5 to 10 mm, in particular 7 to 8 mm. This arrangement seals the lateral gap right up to the foremost area and largely prevents the material from escaping. This means that existing systems can also be improved at low cost.
If the extension pieces are made of plastic, damage to the straps can be prevented.
If the extension pieces are placed on the supporting body of the sealing strips, a stable seal is also achieved in the end area of the wedge zone.
If, according to an advantageous development of the invention, the extension pieces have a milling groove into which the support body of the sealing strips is inserted, in particular clamped, simple installation is possible.
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the drawings, in which FIG. 1 shows a device according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows an area from FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a section in FIG. 2 according to line lil-lil, FIG. 4 shows a section in Fig. 2 along line IV-IV and Fig. 5 shows a section in Fig. 2 along line VV.
Fig. 1 shows part 1 of a device for drainage, which contains the wedge zone. The screens run around deflection rollers 2, 3. The pulp suspension to be dewatered is introduced between the screens via a headbox 4. Wedge plates 5, 6, which have holes for removing the liquid, serve as support for the sieves. The wedge end 7 is the point at which the strips are the smallest distance apart and are then continued in parallel.
2 now shows the side seal 8 in the area of the wedge end. The existing part with a support body 9, a plastic film 10 as a sealing lip and a clamping strip 11 runs practically the same as a wedge shape as the sieves or wedge plates (not shown). With this version, sealing up to a gap height of approx. 15 mm can be achieved without the sieve belts being endangered by the steel strips. Previous side seals ended here, so that in the end area, partially dewatered fiber material repeatedly escaped laterally due to the pressing pressure there. The side seal now has an extension piece or an extension part 12, which is preferably made of plastic and thus cannot cause any damage to the tapes, which are preferably also made of plastic.
As a result, the wedge end 7 with a height of approx. 15 mm can be moved towards the end 7 ′ with a height of approx. 7-8 mm. This displacement of the wedge end means that the area of the wedge end that was previously free on the sides can be reduced to approximately 1/10.
Fig. 3 shows a section along line 111-111 in Fig. 2. Here you can see the structure of the side seal 8 in the front area. Between a support body 9 and a terminal block 11 there is a plastic film 10, the edges of which are designed such that they lie flat against the belts (sieves or felts). Due to the pressure of the suspension, they are pressed even more against the ligaments and practically completely seal the side of the wedge. The support body 9 has a rib 13 for reinforcement, which extends in the longitudinal direction.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
FIG. 4 shows a section along line IV-IV in FIG. 2, which shows the end region of the side seal 8. Here an extension part 12 is used instead of the support body and the clamped sealing lip, which also tapers in the longitudinal direction. The extension part 12 also has a groove 14 in the longitudinal direction, into which the rib 13 of the support body 9 protrudes and is preferably clamped there. The connection can also be glued for safety.
5 shows a longitudinal section through the connection area from the extension part 12 to the support body 9 according to line V-V in FIG. 2. It can be seen well here that the rib 13 is extended beyond the support body 9 and extends to the end of the extension part 12. This stiffens the extension part so that it cannot deflect even at high pressure. A continuous transition from the support body 9 or the terminal block 3 to the extension part 12 is also ensured.
The invention is not limited by the examples. For example, the extension part can also consist of other materials, such as ceramic.
