Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a window frame which is made from plastic hollow chamber profiles.
Such plastic frames are used on a large scale in window construction today. The individual frame parts are made from appropriately cut, extruded hollow chamber profiles and then assembled to form the complete frame. However, these frame parts, which have been known since then, are not able to cope with higher requirements in terms of their stability and thermal insulation properties. In addition, they are very difficult to produce in a curved form. For this purpose, so-called plastic chains, which are notched on both sides, must be inserted into all chambers of the hollow profiles before the profile can be bent to the desired radius under the action of heat. The chains must then be removed from the chambers using high tensile forces.
With thermal deformation there is a risk that the notched chain surface will be pressed into the frame parts, which is also visible on the outside of the frame parts.
The present invention has for its object to provide a plastic window frame that also meets high thermal insulation and stability requirements and can be easily produced in an arch form.
The object is achieved with a window frame which is made from plastic hollow chamber profiles, which according to the invention is characterized in that the hollow chamber profiles are at least partially foamed with a soft foam and in

foamed area are bendable. The soft foam filled into the hollow chambers increases both the thermal insulation properties and the stability of the entire frame and considerably simplifies its flexibility.
Due to the easy bendability, the cumbersome pulling of chains into the chambers of the profiles before the bending process and the subsequent pulling out of the chains from the curved profile are no longer necessary. The soft foam does not have to be removed after the bending process. Rather, it remains in the hollow chambers and thereby increases the thermal insulation properties and the stability of the entire frame.
The hollow chamber profiles can now, for example, also have an arc shape in some areas, which means that they can also be used in old buildings.
PUR foams are also particularly suitable as flexible foams.
