Dabei zeigen:
Fig. 1 schematisch ein aufgeweitetes Rohrstück mit Differenzdruck-Überströmventil,
Fig. 2 schematisch ein Differenzdruck-Überströmventil und
Fig. 3 das Rohrstück mit Aufweitung.
Gleiche Bezugszeichen bedeuten in allen Figuren gleiche Einzelteile.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a differential pressure overflow valve used in a bypass line between the supply and return lines of a water heater. According to the preamble of the independent claim.
WO 96/19703 has a generic differential pressure overflow valve which is used to connect a radiator. This is a cast body with an extremely angled duct door, with an overflow valve inserted as an insert in a central area of the duct. Such overflow valves are generally known from DE 1 753 239 A1.
In both cases, the fittings or the overflow valve itself are not very aerodynamically designed and have no elements that make it easy to assemble.
In another known differential pressure overflow valve, the overflow valve has a housing which is connected to pipe sections adjoining on both sides. It is necessary to insert seals between the respective flanges of the valve and the adjacent pipe sections.
The aim of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages just described and to create a differential pressure overflow valve of the type specified in the introduction, which enables the heater to be easily installed.
According to the invention, this is achieved in a differential pressure overflow valve of the type specified in the introduction by the characterizing features of the independent patent claim.
The proposed measures ensure that only a connection to be sealed is required for the installation of the differential pressure overflow valve. This results in a particularly simple construction, since the seal which is required anyway serves at the same time as a support for the housing of the valve, the axial position of which is further determined by the transition region between the tube and its expansion.
In the solution according to the invention, the differential pressure overflow valve can be pushed into the corresponding piece of pipe provided with an expansion during assembly and this can be connected in a conventional manner with the interposition of a seal with the connecting pipe piece.
The features of claim 2 result in the advantage of a very simple construction of the differential pressure overflow valve.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. Show:
1 schematically shows an expanded pipe section with a differential pressure overflow valve,
Fig. 2 shows schematically a differential pressure overflow valve and
Fig. 3, the pipe section with expansion.
The same reference numerals mean the same individual parts in all figures.
In the device according to the invention with a heater (not shown), a feed line 12 for warm water has a widening 1 in addition to a section 3 with a normal diameter, a conical transition zone 2 being provided between these two areas.
A differential pressure overflow valve 15 is inserted into the expansion 1. The widening 1 is provided at its free end with a flange 6, which is used for connection to a return line, not shown. A seal 5 rests on the flange 6.
The differential pressure overflow valve 15 has a cylindrical housing 7, the two end walls 16, 17 of which are provided with central bores 18, 11. The edge of the bore 11 forms a valve seat 10 with which a valve body 9 cooperates
This valve body 9 is biased against the valve seat 10 by means of a compression spring 8, which is supported on the inside of the end wall 16. The compression spring 8 is fastened to the end wall 16 in the region of the point 14.
In the assembled state, the housing 7 of the differential pressure overflow valve 15 is supported on a seal 5, which is interposed between the flange 6 and that of a return line, not shown.
The supply line 12 is fastened with a union nut 4 to the return line, not shown.
During operation, there is only a small pressure difference between the pressure in the supply line 12 and the return line, not shown, so that the compression spring is sufficient to hold the valve body 9 in a sealing manner against the valve seat 10.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
If there is a greater pressure difference due to a malfunction, the compression spring 8 is overpressed and the valve body 9 lifts off the valve seat 10, as a result of which water can flow from the supply line to the side 13 of the return line and further into it.
