Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The present invention relates to a sealing element for sealing the area between a cladding element of a wing of a window or a door and one
Insulating glass element, wherein the sealing element consists of three areas, namely one
Base area, an adjacent sealing lip, which over the on the face of the
Insulating glass element existing glazing rebate and an anchoring area with which the
Seal is held in the end region of a cladding element
A sealing element is known from WO 94/25716 that is clamped in a window profile and lies sealingly against a window pane. A sealing lip protrudes beyond the end face of the glass element and lies against the profile.

The sealing of the cladding element with respect to the insulating glass element to the outside is effected essentially only by a single sealing lip. In many cases, this has proven to be insufficient. As a result, outside air can penetrate as far as the glass rebate, with hardly any impeded air convection, especially when the wind is strong. This leads to a deterioration in the thermal insulation of the window or door
The object of the present invention is to provide a sealing element which enables an improved seal between a cladding element and an insulating glass element even under difficult conditions.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the base region has a plurality of slats lying close to one another, which bear against the insulating glass element
The sealing element according to the invention is characterized by a complete sealing of the peripheral glass rebate in addition to the sealing of the area between a cladding element of a sash of a window or a door and an insulating glass element.

A particularly secure hold of the sealing element can be achieved if the anchoring area encompasses an end piece of the cladding element.

In terms of construction, it is particularly advantageous if the anchoring area can be pressed into a circumferential profile on the side of the cladding element facing away from the viewer in a manner known per se. In this way, an advantageous optical effect can be achieved in particular
A further improvement of the seal can be achieved in that an additional seal is provided between the cladding element and the insulating glass element on the side of the sealing element opposite the lip.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of the exemplary embodiments illustrated in the figures.

1 and 2 show different embodiment variants of the invention in section in the installed state. 3 to 6 show further embodiment variants, only the sealing element being shown in section here and FIGS. 7 and 8 show further embodiment variants of the invention in the installed state in section.

1 shows a section through a stick 1 and a wing 2 of a window or a door, both the stick 1 and the wing 2 being covered with cladding elements 3, 4 against the outside air. Between the wing covering element 4 and the insulating glass element 5 there is a sealing element according to the invention, the sealing element consisting of a base region 6 with a plurality of slats 7 lying closely next to one another, a sealing lip 8 adjoining it, which over the on the end face of the insulating glass element 5 The existing glass rebate 9 is sufficient and seals it completely against the outside air and there is an anchoring area 10, which comprises an end area 11 of the cladding element 4.

However, the base area 6 can also be designed such that it can be combined with a known seal 12, as can be seen from FIG. 2.

In Fig. 3, the sealing element according to Fig. 1 is shown in isolation. FIG. 4 shows the sealing element used in FIG. 2, which can be combined with any known seal between an outer covering element and an insulating glass element.

5 and 6 show sealing elements analogous to FIGS. 3 and 4, but here the anchoring area 13 is designed such that the seal can be pressed into a circumferential profile 14 on the side of the covering element 4 applied to the viewer, as shown in FIGS Fig. 7 and 8 shows which is part of a section through a paneled frame
