The ratio of the width B of the base edge 9 - 9 to the height H of the cross section is approximately 1.5. This base body 1 has an inner, longitudinal, bore-like recess 2. This recess 2, which is circular in cross section here, is so large and lies within the cross section of the base body 1 in such a way that the wall 3 of this recess 2 with the two outer surfaces 4 of the base body 1 each a longitudinal, thin-walled predetermined breaking point 14 limited. In the base area, this base body 1 has a longitudinal, groove-like depression 5, the side flanks 6 of which project in a wedge-like manner. In this groove-like recess 5 lies the insert 7 made of swellable material, which is expediently cast into this groove-like recess 5. The outside 8 of the swellable sealing material insert 7 is set back somewhat from an imaginary plane 10 connecting the edge edges 9 of the base surface 11 of the base body 1, so that this outside 8, when the seal is placed on a flat surface, is somewhat distanced therefrom is. The width B of the base surface 11 of the base body 1 is greater than the width b of the insert 7 and the base surface 11 of the base body 1 starting from the edge edges 9 closes with an imaginary plane 10 connecting these edge edges 1 to form the side edges of the insert 7 subsequent sealing lips 12 an acute angle α. This acute angle α is approximately 15 '. Between the groove-like recess 5 and the recess 2, a separating slot 13 is also incorporated. If the seal according to the exemplary embodiment shown has a triangular cross section, it is within the scope of the invention to also make this cross section rectangular or trapezoidal. Instead of a recess 2, a plurality of such parallel recesses can also be provided within such a cross section. The circumferential contour of this recess 2 is not tied to the circular shape. A polygonal circumferential contour would also be conceivable, in which case this cross section is placed relative to the outer cross section of the seal in such a way that a corner of this cross section of the recess 2 is used to form the predetermined breaking point 14. This seal is installed on a construction site in the manner that was initially discussed in connection with the previously known constructions. The two ends of the seal are led out of the formwork. This seal can also be used in rainy weather because, as the illustration shows, the insert 7 made of swellable material is spaced from the contact surface, shown here by the imaginary plane 10, through the sealing lips 12. If the concrete is filled to erect the wall, its weight rests on the seal and thereby presses the sealing lips 12 flat and thus the insert 7 against the contact surface, the insert 7 now starting to swell when it wets through this contact with the contact surface becomes. If it is subsequently determined that the existing structural joint could not be adequately sealed by this seal, for example because the concrete introduced has an excessive shrinkage, then an injection liquid is used in this seal, namely in the recess 2, using known devices high pressure (for example 200 bar). The injection liquid under this high pressure not only tears open the predetermined breaking points 14 and enables the injection liquid to step outward into the joints to be sealed, the outer surface 8 of the insert 7 is also pressed firmly against the support plane via the separating slot 13. In this way, subsequent sealing defects can be effectively remedied. The seal according to the invention is not only of simpler construction than the constructions mentioned at the beginning, it is considerably more efficient in terms of the function intended for it, despite the simplified construction. 1.
