Abstract

A seat which can be converted into a bed has two carriages 1, 2 which can be moved out of the furniture frame 3, a two-part cushion 28, 29 being arranged on a carriage 1, it being possible for the upper part 29 of the said cushion, which is expediently connected to the lower part 28 by a material hinge, to be folded onto the other carriage 2, provided with an uncushioned support 13, when the carriage 1 is pulled out. In order to avoid gaps between cushions, the width of the uncushioned support 13, which is mounted so that it can be raised and lowered in the second carriage 2, which is the outer in the lying position, by means of a lifting fitting 12, can be varied from a narrower width in its position in the first carriage 1 underneath the two-part cushion 28, 29 to a greater width outside the first carriage 1 - and vice versa. <IMAGE>

Die beiden Aussenteile 20 sind symmetrisch zu einem Mittelteil 25 angeordnet, der mittels Dübeln 26 heb- und senkbar geführt ist. Sowohl der Mittelteil 25 als auch die beiden Aussenteile 20 weisen an ihren zueinander weisenden Kanten miteinander zusammenwirkende Abschrägungen 27 auf. 



   Auf dem ersten Wagen 1 liegt ein aus zwei Teilen 28, 29 bestehendes Polster, wobei die Stärke des zweiteiligen Polsters annähernd im Verhältnis 2 : 1 geteilt ist. Die beiden Teile 28, 29 sind durch ein Stoffgelenk miteinander verbunden und der etwa halb so starke Teil 29 ist auf den zweiten Wagen 2 klappbar. 



   Bei der Umwandlung des Möbels von der in Fig. 1 dargestellten Sitzstellung in die in Fig : 2 gezeigte   Liegestellung   wird der Wagen 2 ausgezogen, wobei er mittels der Rollen 6 beim Anstossen am Ende der Führungen 5 den Wagen 1 mitnimmt. Die Auflage 13 kann dann angehoben werden und nun wird an den beiden Aussenteilen 20 angezogen, sodass die Auflage 13 aus der in Fig. 5 gezeigten Stellung in die ausgezogene Stellung nach Fig. 4 gelangt. Nunmehr kann der obere schwächere Teil 29 des zweiteiligen Polsters auf die Auflage 13 geklappt werden, wobei zufolge der Verbreiterung der Auflage 13 der Teil 29 über seine gesamte Breite aufliegt. 



   Bei der Umwandlung in die Sitzstellung wird vorerst der Teil 29 rückgeklappt und dann die beiden Aussenteile 20 zusammengeschoben. Die Kanten 27 der Aussenteile 20 heben dabei im Zusammenwirken mit den Kanten des Mittelteiles 25 letzteren hoch, sodass die Stellung nach Fig. 5 wieder erreicht wird. Nun kann die Auflage 13 abgesenkt und die beiden Wagen 1 und 2 wieder In das Möbelgestell 3 eingeschoben werden. 



   Im Rahmen der Erfindung sind zahlreiche Abänderungen möglich. So könnte die Verbreiterung der Auflage 13   z. B   auch durch Aufklappen zweier mittels Scharnieren mit einem breiteren Mittelteil verbundenen Aussenteilen erfolgen.

   On the first carriage 1 there is a cushion consisting of two parts 28, 29, the thickness of the two-part cushion being divided approximately in a ratio of 2: 1. The two parts 28, 29 are connected to one another by a fabric joint and the part 29, which is about half as strong, can be folded onto the second carriage 2.



   When converting the furniture from the sitting position shown in FIG. 1 to the lying position shown in FIG. 2, the carriage 2 is pulled out, taking the carriage 1 with it by means of the rollers 6 when it is pushed against the end of the guides 5. The support 13 can then be raised and now the two outer parts 20 are tightened so that the support 13 moves from the position shown in FIG. 5 to the extended position according to FIG. 4. Now the upper, weaker part 29 of the two-part cushion can be folded onto the support 13, the part 29 lying over its entire width due to the widening of the support 13.



   When converting to the sitting position, part 29 is first folded back and then the two outer parts 20 are pushed together. The edges 27 of the outer parts 20, in cooperation with the edges of the central part 25, raise the latter so that the position according to FIG. 5 is reached again. Now the support 13 can be lowered and the two carriages 1 and 2 can be pushed back into the furniture frame 3.



   Numerous modifications are possible within the scope of the invention. So the widening of the edition 13 z. B also by opening two outer parts connected by hinges to a wider central part.
