Abstract

A piece of seating furniture which can be converted into a bed possesses a back cushion 11 and an auxiliary cushion 10 which, in the sitting position, is situated approximately upright behind the back cushion 11 and, in the lying position, serves to increase the lying area. The auxiliary cushion 10 is, on the one hand, articulated via a hinge 9 on a trolley 2 capable of being extended from the furniture frame 1 and is, on the other hand, guided by means of rollers 15 and 16 in lateral guides 17. In order to keep the space requirement for the auxiliary cushion 10 during its displacement as small as possible, the auxiliary cushion 10 has two articulatedly interconnected parts 12 and 13, so that the auxiliary cushion 10 adapts to the course of the guides 17 during its movement therein. <IMAGE>
