It is a recognized disadvantage that the vapors that develop in the garbage lock in warm weather pull up to the pipe and annoy the occupants of the attic. This inconvenience is eliminated according to the present invention by a device attached to the upper exit of the waste pipe, which respectively denied the vapors from the exit. derives them in such a way that they cannot cause nuisance.
In the drawing, the invention is shown in three exemplary embodiments. In Fig. 1, a is a tube of somewhat narrower diameter than the waste tube.
A frame b is formed on this tube, the front surface of which is inclined at an angle. The frame opening is closed by a flap c, which is rotatably attached to the upper edge and rests on the fold e, so that a tight seal is achieved. The tube a is now inserted up to the frame in the waste pipe f so that the frame is in the gutter (g). The flap is kept concave so that it rests close to the edge of the mouth of f. The approaching 3 water presses the flap c inwards and can thus enter the waste pipe; but the flap closes again by itself after passing through the water. On the other hand, the flap cannot be opened from the inside and so the vapors can never escape.
In Fig. 2 it is illustrated that two opposite flaps are arranged so that the water can flow in from both sides. A stop h is provided so that the flaps do not interfere with one another.
3 shows the arrangement in such a way that there is a gap i under the frame and that the tube is only inserted up to the stops k; At the top, the tube slides out over the attic window and is closed with an extractor hood I. As long as there is no water running, the gap allows air to enter, which pulls up the vapors with it. An inner strip m serves to divert the vapor flow from the gap.
