Abstract

A device for protecting an article from limescale deposits comprises a film of a plastic which is shaped and dimensioned to correspond substantially to the shape and dimensions of the article, the softening temperature of which plastic lies above 100 degrees C, preferably above 200 degrees C, the film being exchangeably applied to the article and, if appropriate, provided in predetermined regions with stiffening ribs and/or connecting elements for the connection of the film to the article.

   Die Erfindung betrifft eine Einrichtung zum Schutz eines Gegenstandes gegen Kalkablagerungen. 



   Bei zahlreichen, insbesondere im Haushalt oder Büro verwendeten Gegenständen und Geräten, wie Luftbefeuchter, Kaffeemaschinen, Bügeleisen, Waschmaschinen usw. besteht das Problem, dass im Laufe des Betriebes der im Wasser enthaltene Kalk sich an den mit Wasser in Berührung kommenden Teilen oder Gegenständen des Gegenstandes bzw. Gerätes ablagert und diese Kalkablagerungen die Funktion des Gegenstandes bzw. Gerätes beeinträchtigt. Hiezu kommt, dass die stärksten Kalkablagerungen zumeist an unzugänglichen Stellen des Gegenstandes auftreten und daher mechanisch schwer zu beseitigen sind. Anderseits ist die Verwendung chemischer Substanzen zur Beseitigung der Kalkablagerungen bei Geräten zur Nahrungs- und Genussmittelbereitung höchst unerwünscht. 



   Aufgabe der Erfindung ist die Beseitigung dieser Nachteile und die Schaffung einer äusserst einfachen Einrichtung, um Kalkablagerungen an den Gegenständen bzw. Geräten von vornherein zu verhindern. 



   Diese Aufgabe wird mit einer Einrichtung der vorerwähnten Art erfindungsgemäss gelöst durch eine im wesentlichen der Form und den Abmessungen des Gegenstandes entsprechend geform-

   In vorteilhafter Weiterbildung der Erfindung kann die Folie in vorbestimmten Bereichen mit Versteifungsrippen und/oder Anschlusselementen zum Anschluss der Folie an den Gegenstand versehen sein. 



   Die Erfindung wird nachstehend eingehend beschrieben. 



   Beispielsweise sei der zu schützende Gegenstand das Wasserreservoir eines Luftbefeuchters, an dessen Wänden sich normalerweise im Laufe des Betriebes Kalkablagerungen bilden. Erfindungsgemäss wird in das Wasserreservoir eine dessen Gestalt und Abmessungen entsprechend geformte

 an die Wände des Wasserreservoirs angedrückt, von diesen abgestützt und somit in ihrer Form ausreichend stabilisiert. 



   Gegebenenfalls kann die Folie zumindest in ihren im Gebrauch im wesentlichen lotrechten Flächenbereichen mit im wesentlichen lotrechten Versteifungsrippen versehen sein. 



   Hat sich im Laufe des Betriebes allzuviel Kalk in der Folie angesammelt, so wird sie - allenfalls nach Lösen der Klebebänder, Klammern od.   - dem   Wasserreservoir entnommen und durch eine neue Folie ersetzt. 



   Eine ähnliche Folie ist   z. B.   als Schutzeinrichtung für Kaffeemaschinen oder Teekessel vorgesehen ; in diesem Falle führen Kalkablagerungen oder chemische Mittel zu deren Beseitigung zur Beeinträchtigung des Geschmacks des damit zubereiteten Kaffes bzw. Tees. Die Folie hat im wesentlichen Beutelform und ist hinsichtlich Grösse und Form dem Innenraum der Kaffeemaschine bzw. des Teekessels angepasst. Gegebenenfalls ist die Folie mit einem angeformten Schlauch versehen, der durch das Steigrohr der Kaffeemaschine geführt wird. 



   Die Erfindung ist auch als Auskleidung der Heizstäbe eines Durchlauferhitzers denkbar. 



  Hier sind die Folien entweder rohrförmig und ausreichend steif oder schlauchförmig und flexibel. An einem Ende sind sie mit Anschlusselementen in Form einstückig angeformter Flanschen versehen, die an den oberen Schraubverbindungen der Heizstäbe festgeklemmt werden, wodurch die erforderliche Abdichtung ohne weitere Hilfsmittel erzielt wird. 



   In allen Fällen ist wesentlich, dass die Folie nach einiger Zeit problemlos ausgetauscht werden kann. Da dabei die Kalkablagerungen in der Folie verbleiben, ist ein Spülen des Gegenstandes entbehrlich, wie es etwa bei der Anwendung chemischer Mittel notwendig ist. 



   Die Zeichnungen zeigen zwei Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung.

   If too much lime has accumulated in the film during operation, it is removed from the water reservoir - if necessary after loosening the adhesive tapes, clips or the like - and replaced with a new film.



   A similar film is e.g. B. provided as a protective device for coffee machines or tea kettles; in this case limescale deposits or chemical agents to remove them impair the taste of the coffee or tea prepared with them. The film has an essentially bag shape and is adapted in size and shape to the interior of the coffee machine or the teakettle. If necessary, the film is provided with a molded hose which is passed through the riser pipe of the coffee machine.



   The invention is also conceivable as a lining for the heating elements of a continuous-flow heater.



  Here the foils are either tubular and sufficiently rigid or tubular and flexible. At one end, they are provided with connecting elements in the form of integrally molded flanges, which are clamped onto the upper screw connections of the heating rods, as a result of which the required sealing is achieved without further aids.



   In all cases, it is essential that the film can be easily replaced after some time. Since the limescale remains in the film, there is no need to rinse the object, as is necessary, for example, when using chemical agents.
