The invention relates to a water heater with a gas-charged, via a blower
Fresh air supplied and equipped with an exhaust pipe burner, an assigned heat exchanger and a cold water supply and hot water outlet pipe including this heat exchanger, as well as taps for cold and hot water and a membrane chamber water switch for controlling the gas supply.
The object of the invention is to ensure in such a device that after opening the hot water tap, i.e. when the water heater is started, the gas throughput is only released after ensuring the sufficient air throughput by an arranged between the heat exchanger and the hot water tap when the device is started up Blower-engaging two-chamber membrane switch, one chamber of which is connected to the line leading to the hot water tap and the other chamber of which is connected to the outlet line of the water switch, with a solenoid valve short-circuiting the two membrane chambers of the water switch, which only cancels the short circuit when there is a flow in the exhaust pipe .
Alternatively, in the case of a blower-free device, the same object is achieved in that a two-chamber membrane switch is arranged between the heat exchanger and the hot water tap, one chamber of which is connected to the line leading to the hot water tap and the other chamber of which is connected to the outlet line of the water switch, with the presence of an im Exhaust gas shut-off valve is provided with a limit switch, which in turn actuates a contact, which in turn controls the power supply to the solenoid valve so that the solenoid valve is closed when the flap has moved to the open end position.
In both versions, it is ensured that the gas supply is only released after an adequate air throughput has been built up or the obstacle consisting of the closed butterfly valve has been cleared, and the free passage in the air or exhaust gas path is released.
Two exemplary embodiments of the water heater according to the invention are illustrated schematically in the drawings.
In this illustration, only those components of the device are shown and designated that are essential for the principle according to the invention.

--5 '- assigned serauslaufes-9-the taps-10 and 11-- for cold or hot water. The cold water supply from the supply system takes place via the cold water supply line --2-- and the membrane water switch-17-.
The membrane water switch has a membrane --21--, which divides an interior --22- of this water switch into a high pressure chamber --23-- and a low pressure chamber --24--. The space of the low-pressure chamber --24-- is connected to a tap --25-- of a Venturi nozzle --29--. The high-pressure chamber --23-- is connected to the water inlet line --12--, the Venturi --29-- on the downstream side with the cold water supply line --7-- to the heat exchanger-6-. The diaphragm --21-- is provided with a diaphragm plate --26--, which in turn controls at least one gas valve of the valve system-l'-via an adjusting rod --27--.
Between the heat exchanger --6-- and the hot water tap --11-- there is a two-chamber diaphragm switch --13--, one chamber --14-- via the line --14 '- to the hot water tap- 11-leading line-8-and its other chamber --15-- is connected via line --15 '- to the output line --16-- of the water switch --17--. A contactor --13 '- of the membrane switch --13-- is connected to the motor of the blower --3-- via the line --3'.
In a line connecting the two chambers 23 and 24 of the water switch 17
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
tung --28-- a solenoid valve --18-- is open in the idle state, which is only in the case of a flow in the exhaust pipe --4 - signaled by the air pressure switch --19-- via line --20-- and measurable as pressure difference - releases the water supply to the heat exchanger --6--, as it is then closed by the flow of current, the differential pressure building up in the water switch opening the gas valve. The air pressure switch --19-- consists of a differential pressure socket which is connected to the exhaust pipe --3-- via a bypass line --21-- on both sides of the baffle plate --3-- and has a contactor --22--.
In FIG. 2, the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 is modified to the extent that the line --28-- on the high pressure side is not connected to the high pressure chamber of the water switch, but rather directly to the line --12--.
The device works as follows:
After opening the hot water tap --11-- the upper chamber --14-- of the diaphragm switch - 13 - is emptied and this switch --13-- actuates the electrical contactor --13 '-. Because the solenoid valve --18-- is open, water flows through lines --7 and 8--, but the water switch does not respond.
The electrical contactor --13 '- switches on the blower --3-- via line --3', a pressure difference is built up in the exhaust line --4-- on the baffle plate --3 " and the air pressure switch --19-- explained above switches the solenoid valve --18-- into the closed position via the electrical contactor --22--, so that a differential pressure is built up in the membrane chambers 24 - and the gas valve is opened.
After closing the hot water tap --11-- the water heater - as is known, controlled by the water switch --17-- - goes out of operation, in the membrane switch --13-- there is a pressure equalization and the blower becomes --3-- switched off via line --3 '- by contactor --13'. The pressure difference at the air pressure switch --19-- decreases and the solenoid valve --18-- opens the short-circuit line --28--.
The invention can equally well be used with fanless devices. In this case, the supply of the burner or heat exchanger with fresh air is accomplished exclusively by the thermal buoyancy of the hot exhaust gases. Hiebei can then advantageously be provided in the course of the exhaust pipe, a flap which is actuated by a servomotor. It only has to be ensured that this flap opens before the gas supply is released. This could be done by means of a magnet or a servomotor, which is acted on analogously by the two-chamber membrane switch --13. Then it would be possible to provide this exhaust flap with a microswitch, which in turn controls contact --19--, which in turn switches the solenoid valve --18--.
It only has to be ensured that the microswitch only brings the solenoid valve into the closed position when the associated flue gas or fresh air flap is fully open.
