Description

Liquid pressure acts on the nozzle needle from the outside. In the cavity --15-- there is the spring pressure, which depends on the displacement of the nozzle needle, and a dynamic pressure depending on the liquid pressure and the amount of liquid flowing out through the outflow channel --4--.
The balance of forces is now on the one hand due to the pressure in the cylinder chamber via the throughflow opening --16-- and the outflow line --4--, on the other hand through the nozzle needle lying in the flow and the tension of the spring --9- - given.
The throughflow opening --16-- has approximately the same cross section as the outflow line --4--.
The back pressure in the hollow space of the cylinder can be adjusted by the control valve --5--, whereby the constant volume can be changed.
A certain amount of liquid flows out of the Venturi tube --2-- according to arrow --14--. If the fluid pressure in the housing changes --1--, the pressure acting on the nozzle needle changes to the same extent, while the associated internal pressure changes
Forces in the cylinder --6-- are not the same size to each other. This difference is due to the different cross-sections on which the individual pressures are effective. From the diversity of the change in force, it now inevitably follows that
When a new equilibrium is reached, the spring force must also change.
However, the latter simultaneously causes the piston --8-- of the nozzle needle to move axially
Direction, which changes the ring cross-section in the Venturi tube --2--, u. comes in such a way that despite the change in pressure, the amount of liquid flowing out remains constant.
When the control valve --5-- is closed, the greatest excess pressure prevails in the cylinder chamber and the valve goes into the closed position. When the control valve --5-- is fully open, the greatly reduced pressure prevailing in the narrowest part of the venturi tube --2-- is fully communicated to the cylinder chamber via the bores --3-- and the discharge line --4-- and the valve is reached its greatest degree of opening, since the tension spring pulls the nozzle needle back and the ring cross-section of the Venturi tube is completely released.
However, the regulating valve according to the invention still has a property as a pipe rupture protection or overpressure protection. If the liquid pressure for which the regulating valve is designed is exceeded, then the equilibrium condition of the forces relative to one another can no longer be met and the regulating valve then closes due to the excessively high liquid pressure. This case will occur when e.g. B. due to breakage of the pipeline below the control valve, the differential pressure rises above the designed dimension. From this behavior, the property of the regulating valve can be derived as a so-called pipe burst protection.
