Wählt man z. B.

Process to make the solid organic constituents contained in the waste liquors from sulphite cellulose production sparingly soluble or insoluble in water.

The invention relates to a method for making the solid organic constituents contained in the waste liquors of the total cellulose production sparingly soluble or insoluble in water.

The process consists in treating the waste liquors with acids with heating, possibly also under pressure. The lyes, neutralized or acidic, as they come from the cookers, are thickened, e.g. B. to about 30 B and treated with acids with heating. Depending on the nature of the moor and the temperature, gelatinization of the mass occurs faster or slower due to its lower solubility in water. Under otherwise identical conditions, gelatinization or solidification of the mass occurs much more quickly if the waste liquor is mixed with an aldehyde and then treated with an acid. If you choose z. B.

Formaldehyde and concentrated hydrochloric acid, the whole mass almost instantaneously solidifies when heated
 EMI1.1
It is only attacked relatively easily by nitric acid. The treatment with acids can optionally also be carried out in closed vessels and under pressure.

The inorganic constituents such. B. Lime from the Ab caustic be removed beforehand.
 EMI1.2
For more severe fats, fibrous materials, cellulose and the like are added to the lye or the mixture of Lange and an aldehyde, which then form a solid, uniform structure with the gelatinized wood incrustations.
