Burner head for gas lighting and gas heating purposes.
With conventional incandescent gas and gas heating burners, only a small part of the heat from the flame is used. You can use it much more if
EMI1.1
makes a correspondingly larger incandescent body glow.
Such a success is achieved with the burner head according to the present invention.
The present burner head is based on the known constructions in which a plurality of plates stacked one on top of the other are mounted around a central gas supply duct, between which the gas-air mixture flows out to be ignited on the outer surfaces of the plates. In contrast to the known constructions, in the present burner head the outer surfaces of the plates form a shape that tapers downwards, preferably that of an inverted cone, so that the strongest light rays of an incandescent body emanating perpendicularly from the conical surface are directed downwards. A downwardly directed conical shape has already been chosen for other burner heads, but without using the outflow and radiation plates as in the present invention.
The burner head is illustrated in the drawing in Figure 1 in a schematic arrangement; Fig. 2 shows a special design of the radiation and outflow plates. The plates a, lying close to one another, are held at the correct distance from one another by refractory supports b and form gaps c through which, from a pipe d allS, the gas air gomiscl1 is conducted to the outer surfaces of the plates and caused to ignite. The gas / air mixture can also be fed in through several channels going through the plates.
At the gaps formed by two plates each, rings of flame emerge, which in their entirety form a flame jacket through which the body of heat becomes effective. It is advantageous to make the plates from poorly conductive material so that the heat given off by the flame jacket is not dissipated too much. In Fig. 2, a corrugated shape is shown to enlarge the surfaces of the plates.
The burner head is. for heating rooms, whereby the incandescent body is of course unnecessary, ideally suited because in this case the flame
EMI1.2
becomes. This avoids unnecessary heating of the upper room. By laying on further plates, which however do not contribute to the gas supply and flame formation, but continue the conical surface upwards, the heat absorption and radiation can be increased.
