<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a device for fastening a handle, in particular one
Handle, in an opening, opening or the like. Of tools, z. B. hammer, ax, cramps or the like., With an engaging in the opening, opening or the like., In this by means of a
Adjusting screw displaceable clamping piece, which is supported on the one hand against a wall of the opening, opening or the like which runs obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the handle, and on the other hand against the side surface of the handle, the adjusting screw being arranged on the side of the handle, in particular parallel to the longitudinal axis of the handle, and is held in the tool so that by
Actuating the set screw against the wall of the opening transversely to its longitudinal axis,
Opening or the like. Is slidable.
A handle attachment is known from AT-PS No. 14224, in which a wedge piece is arranged between the handle and the wall of the opening in the tool. This wedge piece is attached to the handle and carries in the elongated longitudinal axis of the handle a screw bolt, with which the wedge piece is pulled together with the handle into the opening of the tool.
The wedge piece practically represents only a reinforcement of the handle and forms the support for the set screw. The main disadvantage of this device is that the handles of the handle are no longer exactly the same on the opening of the handle when the tool breaks
Tool can continue to be used. In addition, a conical stem shape is required, at least in the area of the stem end.
Furthermore, US Pat. No. 739, 136 describes a device in which actuating screws are used to deform a clamping hood or a clamping piece, which in its undeformed
Condition is curved and that by screwing in the actuating screws, which are called conical
Screws are formed, is deformed and clamped the handle. The dimensioning of such a deformable element is problematic, and the use of conical screws and the provision of an associated nut thread in two non-interrelated construction elements, namely one in the opening of the tool and the other time in the clamping jaws, present difficulties.
The aim of the invention is now to apply the deformable element and the conical
Bypass actuation screws.
According to the invention, this aim is achieved in that the shank of the adjusting screw passes through the clamping piece, which is designed as a known wedge piece and runs on the wall of the opening, opening or the like, which runs obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the handle, and that the adjusting screw thread fits into a Threaded bore of an insert piece arranged in the opening, opening or the like engages.
With this arrangement, the above-mentioned disadvantages are avoided, the device according to the invention providing a simple, problem-free, firm and quick connection between
Handle and tool enables.
A preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the insert piece on a wall of the opening, opening or the like inclined against the thread axis
Tool rests so that the wedge piece and the insert piece are movable towards and away from each other in the opening, opening or the like. Because the wedge piece and that
Insert piece can be moved against each other, is a quick despite relatively low rotation
Approach of the two parts to each other and thus a quick clamping is achieved.
Both the wedge piece and the insert piece can engage with inclined surfaces on correspondingly extending, roof-like inclined surfaces of a pressure piece, which in turn rests on the handle. The pressure piece between the handle and the wedge and insert piece ensures particularly good fastening, since the pressure piece can be adapted to the shape of the handle.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings using the example of a hammer, FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a hammer provided with a handle and FIG. 2 shows a top view of the hammer according to FIG. 1.
The handle-l-is attached to the hammer --6- via a pressure piece --2--, whereby with the sloping surfaces of the pressure piece --2-- inclined towards each other like a roof, a wedge piece -4-- and an insert piece --5 - work together. The wedge piece --4-- and the insert piece --5-- are over
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
a set screw --3-- connected to each other, the wedge piece --4-- has a hole that receives the head and the shaft of the screw --3--, while the thread of the screw in a corresponding threaded hole in the insert piece - 5-- intervenes.
Both the wedge piece --4-- and the insert piece --5-- have inclined surfaces that abut an opening in the hammer that is inclined against the threaded axis of the screw --3--, whereby the wedge piece --4-- and that Insert --5-- can be moved towards and away from each other in the opening.
The inclined surfaces of the wedge and insert piece, which are not in contact with the opening in the hammer, engage the pressure piece --2--, which in turn rests on the handle of the hammer. It is adapted to the curved shape of the handle and thus ensures a firm and secure connection.
In the context of the invention, further embodiments are possible, so the device according to the invention can be attached to both sides of the handle, so that tensioning can be carried out from both sides at any time. PATENT CLAIMS:
