Procedure for adjusting weights.
The invention relates to a method for adjusting weights, according to which they are precisely adjusted BEZW in a simple manner. can be readjusted and adjustment is still possible within very small limits.
In essence, the ancestor consists in this. that the hollow weight
EMI1.1
adheres to the weights.
If it is a matter of adjusting weights down to very small fractions, this can be done through the degree of evacuation. by evacuating the weight insolently ('until enough air has escaped from the cavity of the weight that the weight to be adjusted has the same weight as the normal weight.
The evacuation takes place in such a way that that with the unlocked ceiling! provided weight, which was made a few mg heavier than the normal weight during the previous adjustment on the balance, in the bell of the air pump a

weight of originally z. B. 10 mg after this evacuation only 8 mg, a pressure difference of 32 now corresponds to a weight loss of 3 mg of mercury. An evacuation to 592 mm is therefore necessary for complete adjustment. Is this
EMI1.3
and the weight is adjusted.
Instead of hollow weights, full weights can also be used for the same purpose, in the bottom of which channels are drilled into which the heavy filling compound necessary for adjustment is poured, whereupon the openings are closed by plugs and the air is evacuated from the channels, whereupon the plugs stick firmly in the canals.
