<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a device for measuring the profile radii of roller bearing races with a support disk forming a profile chord and a support disk projecting centrally from this, the associated one
The height of the profile is determined by the spring-loaded sensor, its position via a lever on a
Display instrument is transmitted.
With such a device, the arrow height is measured over a chord precisely defined by the support disk and thus the profile radius of the roller bearing race concerned is also determined. So far, the support disc has been attached to an arm of a stand, which is also the
Forms pivot bearing for the lever, the two-armed lever acting with its other arm on the button of a dial gauge attached to the stand. The accuracy of the measurement leaves something to be desired with such devices, because the rolling bearing races to be tested with the profile to be tested or the groove to be tested must be pressed against the support disc and the amount of this pressure is not always the same, but either from the Weight of the race or the applied force of the
Operator depends.
The different pressures also result in different deformations which lead to the measurement inaccuracies and which can even cause damage to the test item. In addition, it is a relatively heavy device that requires its own installation site and, for example, cannot be used during manufacture when the roller bearing raceway is clamped.
Accordingly, the invention is based on the object of eliminating these deficiencies and creating a device of the type described above, which provides an objectively correct measurement result regardless of the weight of the roller bearing race or the force of the operator and can be used at any location.
The invention solves the problem in that the sensor guide carrying the support disc, the lever and a known electronic transducer are combined to form a unit, which in a grip sleeve around an axis running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sensor from a rest position determined by a stop in the sense of the sensor retraction can be pivoted against the action of a spring, with switches that can be actuated in a certain pivoting range of the structural unit for the direct or indirect closing of the circuit for the electrical display instrument.
The actual measuring unit is therefore arranged in a grip sleeve and the entire device is accordingly designed as a hand-held device that does not have to be attached to a special frame and can therefore also be attached to heavy roller bearing races, for example. Since the structural unit in the grip sleeve can now be pivoted against spring force, when the support disc is pressed against the profile to be tested, there is a relative movement between the structural unit and the grip sleeve, whereby the built-in spring, against whose action the relative pivoting takes place, determines the pressing force. If a certain pivoting path and thus a certain spring force is reached, the circuit for the electrical display device is switched on. This circuit is also interrupted if the spring force exceeds a certain maximum.
The force with which the support disk is pressed against the test object remains within a relatively narrowly limited range, so that no measurement errors, but also no damage to the finely machined surface of the rolling bearing races, are to be feared.
In the drawings, the subject matter of the invention is shown in one embodiment, u. 1 shows a measuring device in partial section, FIG. 2 shows an associated cross section along the line II-II in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 shows the circuit diagram.
In Fig. 1, a ball bearing race is indicated by dash-dotted lines. The profile radius of the annular groove --1-- of the ball bearing race should be measured. A support disc --2--, which forms the profile chord, and a spring-loaded sensor --3-- projecting centrally from this, which determines the corresponding arrow height, are used for this. The sensor position resulting from the measurement is transferred via a lever --4-- to an electronic measuring sensor --5-- and from this to an electrical display instrument --6-- (Fig. 3).
According to the invention, the sensor guide --7-- carrying the support disc --2--, the lever --4-- and the transducer --5-- are now combined into one structural unit --8--. This structural unit --8-- is arranged in a grip sleeve --8-- with play and has a pivot axis --11-- which is mounted in the grip sleeve base and which runs transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sensor --3--. The unit --8-- is supported by a compression spring --12-- in the manner shown in Fig.
1 shown by a stop
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
- held in a certain rest position and can be pivoted against the force of the spring --12-- in the return direction of the sensor, i.e. counterclockwise, relative to the grip sleeve --9--.
At the rear end of the structural unit --8-- two switches --14-- are provided next to one another, each of which is acted upon by an adjusting screw --15-- when a relative pivoting of structural unit --8-- and grip sleeve - takes place. The adjusting screws --15-- are set so that the two switches --14- are actuated one after the other. In the rest position, according to FIG. 3, both switches --14-- are closed, and a control lamp --16-- lights up, which indicates that the measuring pressure, i.e. H. the pressure of the support disc --2-- on the profile to be measured --1-- is still too low.
The relay --17-- connected in parallel to the control lamp --16-- interrupts the normally closed contact --18-- in this position, so that the circuit of the measuring sensor --5-- and the display instrument --6-- is also interrupted. If the measuring pressure is increased, i. H. If the structural unit --8-- is swiveled relatively, one of the two switches --14-- is first brought into its second position, thus interrupting the circuit for the control lamp and the relay --17--, i.e. the Lamp and the normally closed contact --18 - closes, so that now that the measuring pressure is correct, the display instrument - is also switched on.
If the measuring pressure is increased further, i.e. if it exceeds the desired level, the second switch --14-- is moved to its second position, but the circuit of control lamp --16-- and relay --17-- is closed again, so that the control lamp lights up, the normally closed contact - is interrupted and there is no longer any possibility of measurement. With the help of the adjusting screws -15- acting on the two switches, the measuring range, i.e. the minimum and maximum resulting from the force of the spring -12- resulting from a certain relative pivoting path of the structural unit -8- Regulate or change the measuring pressure.
