Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc / Clms Page number 1>
The invention relates to a device for gassing foamable liquids in cesspools, dung pits or the like with a hollow shaft projecting into the pit and connected to a drive motor, which at the end opposite the motor has openings for the escape of air supplied via the hollow shaft and has a stirring body rotating with the shaft with blades arranged on the underside for stirring the liquid in the pit and on the upper side at the lower end of the hollow shaft blades for sucking in air, the hollow shaft being surrounded by a tube open on both sides which is attached to the Motor-facing end is above the liquid level in order to suck the foam through the tube open on the liquid surface and introduce it into the liquid.
In this known device, the liquid contained in the pit is stirred and air is introduced into it at the same time. The air flows through the liquid in the form of bubbles and then partially collects in the area of the liquid level as foam, which is returned to the liquid through the pipe. By stirring with a supply of air, pathogenic germs are killed and, after some time, a reduction or elimination of the odor spreading from the liquid is achieved.
In known devices of this type, a very high foam layer forms above the liquid level, which is only destroyed in the immediate area of the upper opening of the pipe. In order to overcome this disadvantage, it has already been proposed to arrange rotating knives above the liquid layer which break up the foam and cause the remaining foam to be introduced into the pipe.
However, these rotating knives have the major disadvantage that they simultaneously stir up the gases located above the liquid level or above the foam layer, so that there is a great deal of odor nuisance.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of these known devices. Based on a device of the type set out in the introduction, this is achieved according to the invention in that the blades are covered by a ring on the top of the agitator body, whereby chambers with lateral outlet openings are provided, and on the top of the ring in the area of the lower opening of the tube for Introducing the foam further blades are arranged.
In the embodiment according to the invention, the blades arranged on the upper side of the ring of the agitator create a negative pressure through which the foam and the gases above the liquid level are sucked into the pipe and introduced into the pit in that area of the liquid in which the bottom the blades on the underside of the agitator have a relatively high flow rate. Due to the negative pressure caused by the high flow velocity of the liquid and the suction pressure caused by the blades on the top of the stirring body and on the top of the ring, relatively large amounts of air or foam and gases are introduced into the liquid with the formation of small bubbles.
This shortens the killing process and achieves a significant reduction in odor nuisance within a very short time.
A preferred embodiment of the invention consists in that the tube for introducing the foam tapers conically in the area of the lower opening and a rotating knife is preferably provided inside the tube for breaking up the foam.
The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. In the drawings: FIG. 1 shows a sectional view of a device according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a front view and FIG. 3 shows a view from below of the stirring body in FIG. 1 on an enlarged scale and partially in section.
The device according to the drawings has a frame --1-- with three arms --5--, two of which can be seen in FIG. A drive motor --2-- is attached to the middle part of the frame --1-- in a housing --10--. A hollow shaft --3-- is connected to the journal of the motor --2--, to which a stirring device --4-- is screwed through a thread --11-- at the lower end. At the outer ends of the arm --5-- of the frame --1-- rods --6-- are attached which are used to set up the device outside the pit.
Floats --7-- are attached to the bars --6--. --8-- is the liquid level and --9-- is the level of the foam that forms above the liquid.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The stirring device consists of a stirring body --14--, on which paddle wheels --12, 13-- that are aligned with one another protrude on both sides. The upper paddle wheels --13-- are covered by an annular disc --15--, which means that chambers --16-- connected to the hollow shaft with lateral outlet openings --17. - be preserved. Above the ring-shaped disc --15-- are further blades --18-- which are arranged at the lower opening of a tube --19-- surrounding the hollow shaft --3. The tube -19- narrows conically in the lower area.
Above the liquid level --8-- a knife --20-- is provided inside the pipe --19-- to break up the foam.
On the one hand, the stirring device circulates the liquid in the direction of the arrows a and air is sucked in via the suction nozzle --21--, the motor housing --10-- and the hollow shaft --3-- into the chambers and through the openings - 17-- inserted into the liquid at that point (see p.
Arrow b), at which there is a relatively high flow velocity. The foam sucked into the pipe --19 - is partially broken up by the knife --20-- and the remaining part is sucked in through the blades --18-- and introduced into the liquid (see arrow c). As a result of this measure, the foam sucked into the pipe is broken up and the suction of the foam layer is thereby effectively supported.
