The invention relates to a roller for cable car running gears, consisting of a base body having the hub and a wear ring made of plastic, in particular of polyamide, connected to it and having the cable contact surface.
Castors for cable car running gears with a base body having the hub and a plastic wear ring connected to it are already known. The use of plastic wear rings is intended to reduce the surface pressure between the roller and the rope and to increase the service life of the rope. It has already been proposed to inject a plastic wear ring onto a base body made of metal. The wear ring formed in this way can, however, only have a small thickness for technological reasons, since otherwise voids will form during the manufacture of the wear ring. As a result, this wear ring rolls off quickly and has to be replaced after a relatively short time, which is a major disadvantage.
It has therefore already been proposed to connect a plastic wear ring to a metallic base body. Such a wear ring can be made much stronger than a wear ring sprayed onto the base body, but side plates connected to the base body and supporting the wear ring laterally are necessary to fix this wear ring on the base body. Apart from the fact that such a design of the roller is very complex from a structural point of view, the use of the side windows has the disadvantage that the parts that come into contact with these side windows, such.
B. the rope shoes, rope sleeves and the running rails in the stations and thus also the side windows are subjected to heavy wear, whereby the advantages achieved by using the wear ring are partially canceled. It has therefore already been proposed to produce the entire roller from plastic, for example by machining from a semi-finished product or by casting in a mold. The use of rollers of this type is only sensible, however, if a long service life of the rollers is to be expected, since the entire roller has to be replaced in the event of wear.
There are systems in which, due to unfavorable geometrical conditions, poor environmental conditions and inadequate maintenance, the wear on the rollers is very high, so that the rollers made entirely of plastic cannot be used there.
There is also known a pulley made of plastic, which is rotatably arranged on a stationary bearing part also made of plastic. This known roller also consists entirely of plastic and thus has the disadvantages mentioned above.
The invention has set itself the task of avoiding the disadvantages of the known rollers while maintaining their advantages. The invention is based on a roller of the type described above and consists essentially in the fact that the base body is also made of plastic, preferably of the same plastic as the wear ring, and has the shape of a truncated cone on its outer surface supporting the wear ring, and that the inner surface of the wear ring resting on the outer surface of the base body is also designed in the shape of a truncated cone,
The inclination of the generatrix of the truncated cone of the base body corresponds to the inclination of the generatrix of the truncated cone of the wear ring and, with the wear ring separated from the base body, the diameter of the truncated cone of the wear ring at each point is slightly, for example by 0.5%, smaller than the diameter of the truncated cone of the Base body in the appropriate place.
The invention makes it possible in a simple manner to produce a roller made entirely of plastic with a separate wear ring, so that when it is worn, the entire roller does not have to be replaced. The inventive design of the roller also enables a particularly simple connection of the wear ring to the base body.
The fact that both the wear ring and the base body are made of plastic and therefore have a certain elasticity enables the wear ring, which has a slightly smaller diameter than the base body, to be pressed onto this base body, with the special shape of the contact surfaces not only making this pressing on essential is facilitated, but also a firm connection between the wear ring and the base body is guaranteed.
An additional safeguard of the wear ring against displacement in the direction of the smaller diameter on the frustoconical surface of contact could be made with known means of the

general mechanical engineering, e.g. B. Seeger rings, snap rings or the like. Take place. Conventional side windows are not required.
The roller according to the invention thus has all the advantages of the roller made entirely of plastic, for example low surface pressure, low rolling resistance, low noise level during operation, low wear of the cable shoes, cable sleeves and the rails in the stations, quieter entry into the coupling and uncoupling frames, long service life, freedom from corrosion and weather resistance, low weight and low costs, with the additional advantages that the wear ring can be changed separately in a simple manner and that, because both the base body and the wear ring are made of plastic, the occurrence of Stresses due to different sizes of thermal expansion in the base body and in the wear ring is avoided.
In the drawing, a roller according to the invention is shown schematically in section.
The roller according to the invention consists of a base body --1-- and a wear ring --2-- connected to this base body --1--. The main body --1-- has a bore --3--
EMI2.1
No thermal stresses occur when the roller is heated or cooled. The surfaces in contact with each other, namely the outer surface --5-- of the base body --1-- and the inner surface --6-- of the wear ring -2- have the shape of a truncated cone jacket, the diameter-D- on one side of the The roller is therefore larger than the diameter - d - on the opposite side of the roller. The inclination of the generatrix of the truncated cone jacket to the roller axis is about 2.
Furthermore, the two diameters - D and d-- of the wear ring --2-- when the wear ring is separated from the base body -l- are about 0.5% smaller than the corresponding diameters --D and d- of this base body --1-- .
If, in the case of the roller according to the invention, the wear ring - 2 - is to be fastened to a base body --1--, then it is only necessary to place the wear ring with the side of the larger truncated cone diameter --D-- on the side of the base body -l- with the smaller truncated cone diameter --d-- and press on in the direction of the arrow --7--.
As a result of the frustoconical shape of the contact surfaces --5, 6-- and the slightly smaller diameter of the wear ring --2-- and the manufacture of both the base body-1 and the wear ring --2-- from plastic, the final, Position of the wear ring-2-shown in the drawing relative to the base body-l-ensures a secure connection between these parts. If the wear ring --2-- is to be replaced, it is only necessary to pull this wear ring off the base body --1-- in the opposite direction to the arrow --7-- and replace it with a new wear ring --2-- as just described Way to put on.
