The invention relates to an expansion joint connection for guide devices in guardrails, railings and. The vertical guiding devices, preferably guardrails and handrails, must also remain fully functional over the bridge expansion joints, i.e. H. the guardrail or the handrail must be able to accommodate the often considerable movement of the bridge and the tension band effect should also be maintained. This is done by special sliding elements with a stop. The sliding elements must follow the movement and the stop should take over the train protection in the event of an approach to the guidance system.
The disadvantage of these sliding connections with a stop is that, on the one hand, if the workmanship is imprecise, the sliding device can jam in such a way that no more expansion can be transferred and, on the other hand, if the fastening is too loose, for example through elongated holes, a sudden, jerky load on the guide device due to the approach to the guide device Stop occurs, which can easily lead to a break there.
Other known socket connections without an end stop have practically no tension band effect, since the friction alone is neither sufficient for damping nor for power transmission.
The invention avoids all these disadvantages in that the movable ends are connected to one another via preferably hydraulic shock absorbers, which slow movements, e.g. B. in case of temperature changes, offer no resistance, but inhibit rapid movement under shock loads. In the event of a sudden tensile load on the guide device, the force is directed into the hydraulic shock absorber, which absorbs the impact energy, i.e. H. the piston in the shock absorber only moves very slowly and the structure is not loaded so suddenly. The shock absorber can easily transfer the relatively slow expansion of the bridge structure, for example due to temperature fluctuations.
In the drawings, the subject matter of the invention is shown in several variants, for example. FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show the design with two mutually parallel shock absorbers in the center of gravity of the guardrail in the cracks assigned to one another, FIGS. 4 and 5 in top view.

Fig. 6, 7 guide rail height located compensating rod.
According to Fig. 1, 2 and 3, the two ends of the guide rails - 1 and 2 - are connected by two shock absorbers at the overlapping joint. They are approximately in the center of gravity of the guardrail. The shock absorber takes on the tensile load on the guardrail. Since no additional moments occur due to their position approximately in the center of gravity, the direction of force remains straight in the guide rail. As an additional axial guide, a short guide rail piece 5 is welded to one end of the guide rail - 2 - and forms a pocket in which the second end of the guide rail 1 can slide.
4 and 5, the expansion joint can be made with four shock absorbers - 3, 4, 6, 7 - so that the same shock absorbers can cover greater expansion distances. The principle of power transmission to the shock absorber is the same as in the above-described version. In order to be able to use the shock absorber optimally, according to Fig. 6, 7 and 8 in elevation, floor plan and side elevation, the shock absorber --3-- is subjected to pressure when the guide rails 1 and 2-- are subjected to tensile loads. This is achieved in that a linkage - 27 - engages around the shock absorber and thus converts the tensile force in the guide rails into a pressure load in the shock absorber.
In the embodiment according to Figs. 9, 10 and 11, the guardrail ends - 1, 2 - are articulated to the bridge structure --10-- via a linkage - -8, 9--. The shock absorber --3-- is attached between the rods --8, 9-- and transfers the tensile forces. Since the shock absorber lies outside the center of gravity of the guardrail - 1, 2 -, the compensating rods --8, 9-- must prevent the guardrail from bending out in the event of a sudden tensile load. The linkage -8,9- is also designed in such a way that when approaching directly in the area of the expansion joint -11- the guardrail is only lifted to the same extent as with the known shock absorbers on the guardrail post.
In order to prevent a non-positive connection with the bridge structure, according to FIGS. 14, 15, 16 the compensating rod is placed in a plane at the height of the guide rails. The pulling force is diverted by the linkage --16, 17, 18-- in such a way that the shock absorber --3-- is subjected to pressure, which enables better utilization of the shock absorber. A twisting of the guide rails

Construction due to the weight of the balancing rod and the shock absorber is prevented by a kind of pendulum support --19, 20--.
In order to achieve a damping of the expansion joint construction with a bridge railing according to Fig. 12 and 13 as a guide device, the shock absorber --3-- is fastened between two uprights -13 and 14-. It lies between the handrail --12-- and the draft --15-- so that the forces from the draft and the handrail can be transferred to the shock absorber if the railing is subjected to tensile loads.
The shock absorber sits in a tube, which also serves as an extension of the shock absorber.
The invention is not restricted to the exemplary embodiments shown and can be used with all types of guide devices, including those with ropes. In the case of very long guardrails, it can also be installed as an expansion joint connection without a bridge, in order to prevent the guardrail from buckling due to excessive thermal expansion.
