  Huppe.

The present invention aims to enable the driver of an automobile or motorcycle to be able to give individual or continuous horn signals in a simple manner without having to leave the steering wheel off. Up to now it was necessary to press on a rubber ball, which was often not easily accessible, to operate the horn, while only one hand could hold the steering wheel and it was impossible to manipulate the various levers at the same time. With the present invention, a short pull on a cord attached to the steering wheel is enough to let the horn sound for as long as you like while both hands steer the wheel, or one can manipulate the speed lever, etc. at the same time.

The apparatus for operating the horn consists of a rotation of the wheel r. ordinary air pump l actuated by means of the connecting rod p. At the upper end of the air pump, a rectangular bellows b can be attached, which is always pushed together by the spring i.
 EMI1.1
a rubber tire g is pulled up to establish the contact more intimately. Fig. 1 shows the normal position. The horn is out of action.

If the line attached to the steering wheel is pulled, the lever h rotates about the axis c and thereby brings the wheel r into contact with the flywheel s of the motor. The functioning of the horn is indicated by the arrows. As soon as the pull on the leash stops, the spring i brings the wheel r back into the normal position. The air pump

In a similar way, the horn on motorcycles can also be operated by pulling the wheel r, by means of a pull on a line attached to the handlebar in contact with the front wheel tire or a tire mounted on the axle of the front wheel
