Die bekannten Kerzenlöscher, bei denen eine au einer auf die Kerze aufzusteckenden Hülse drehbar angeordnete Löschklappe über die niedergebrannte Kerze streicht und dieselbe zum Erlöschen bringt, weisen den Nachteil auf, dass bei dieser Bewegung die Löschklappe den Kerzendocht abbiegt oder denselben zwischen sich und der Hülsenwand einklemmt, indem die Löschklappe schon in Tätigkeit treten kann, sobald die Kerze bis zum Rand der Hülse niedergebrannt ist.
Dieser Übelstand wird der Erfindung gemäss dadurch beseitigt, dass an der Löschklappe ein nach abwärts gerichteter Ansatz angeordnet ist, welcher sich durch eine Ausnehmung der

hinein niedergebrannt ist.
In der untenstehende Zeichnung, wo Fig. 1 die Vorrichtung bei geöffneter und Fig. 2 bei geschlossener Löschklappe zeigt, ist a die über die Kerze geschobene Blechhülse, in deren Lappen b, b der die Löschklappe d tragende Bolzen c drehbar ist, auf welchen die Feder/geschoben ist, die das Schliessen der Löschklappe d besorgt. Letztere besitzt unten einen Ansatz g, für welchen in der Hülse a eine entsprechende Ausnehmung vorgesehen ist. Der Ansatz g stützt sich für ge- wöhnlich gegen die Kerze und gestattet das Schliessen der Klappe d erst dann, wenn die Kerze ein der Länge des Ansatzes g entsprechendes Stück in die Hülse hinein niedergebrannt ist, wodurch eine Beschädigung des Dochtes verhütet wird.
