Spherically, chromatically and astigmatically corrected double lens.
Through the German patent specification No. 189255 a peculiar type of photographic lens has become known, which is closely related to the one described below. This type is a spherically, chromatically and astigmatically corrected lens, which consists of a biconvex lens and a cemented meniscus with a weak positive focal length. The combination of the two components presupposes a low optical effectiveness because the sum of the reciprocal focal lengths of the separate elements is equal to the reciprocal focal length of the entire system. This fact is also the characteristic feature of that invention.
Another feature, which, however, was not used for characterization, is that the meniscus is arranged behind the biconvex lens - calculated from the diaphragm. It was thereby achieved that the spherical deviation and the astigmatism could be canceled at the same time without the aid of a special means. But when the meniscus is in its position in front of the biconvex lens, that is, next to the diaphragm, this relationship changes very substantially. Spherical deviation and astigmatism cannot then be eliminated at the same time, but a special element is required, in this case it is a dispersing cement surface in the meniscus. to fix both errors at the same time.
In a system with a Bt convex lens behind it, which is the object of this
Invention is. can be the same or almost the same for non-cemented or made of glass type
Refraction of the compound meniscus, either just the spherical deviation or the
Astigmatism is eliminated. If the spherical deviation is eliminated, then astigmatic errors in the sense of an overcorrection occur and if the astigmatism is eliminated, there is spherical aberration in the sense of an undercorrection. By means of a scattering putty surface that can face the curvature of the screen or face away from it. it is possible to eliminate both errors.
The choice of glasses will expediently be made in such a way that the negative lens with higher refraction is also made from a nose with greater color dispersion and the positive lens with lower refraction is made from a glass with lower dispersion.
The introduction of a dispersing cement surface becomes of considerable strength
EMI1.1
Now, through the German patent specification No. 92313, objectives are already known which consist of a single converging lens and a cemented meniscus with a dispersing effect. But these lenses are different from them
EMI1.2
was made solely for the purpose. correct the chromatic aberrations. Spherical deviation and astigmatism can also be canceled out in these systems without cementing the individual elements. As a result, the glasses that make up the meniscus are almost the same in refraction.
This is not the case with the present system. because it must not be included in the type of photographic lens that is based on the so-called "Gauss type". It differs from the objective according to D. R. 1 ', no. H2 13, in that the dispersing meniscus must necessarily consist of a positive lens of lower refraction and a negative lens of higher refraction.
