Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

The invention relates to a height-adjustable road gully or manhole cover which comprises a base frame which can be anchored in the road surface and which is provided with blocks protruding into the interior of the frame and with recesses for receiving an extension frame, and a cover.

In road construction, there is often the need to cover road gullies safely before the last layer of the road surface has been applied. For this reason, the framework of the
Road gullies are often raised to the level of the top road layer when paving and when
Installation of the temporary road surface ramps arranged around the protruding frame. However, this naturally leads to difficulties in draining the water. In addition, the ramps hinder traffic.

There are already height-adjustable street gullies or manhole covers known in which a
Base frame is anchored in the road surface, the upper edge of which is at the level of the provisional
Road surface is set up. This base frame has blocks protruding into the interior of the frame, which serve as a support for the cover. After the last layer of the road surface has been applied, a correspondingly high stacking frame is attached to the base frame. However, it is necessary to
To fasten the underside of the lid blocks that are attached to the blocks of the
Support the base frame in order to keep the cover, which is now stored in the extension frame, at the same level as the upper edge of the frame.

The disadvantage of this known height-adjustable road gully is that blocks have to be screwed onto the mostly heavily soiled underside of the cover, which causes considerable difficulties.

Another disadvantage is the larger play between the extension frame and the cover, which is required by the screwed-on blocks, since the distance between the bearing points of the cover and the opposite inner wall of the frame corresponds to the connecting line bearing point-outer lower block edge and not just the distance between the bearing points The front surface of the cover must be dimensioned, which results in considerable differences, especially with larger heights.

The aim of the invention is to create a height-adjustable road gully of the type mentioned at the outset which enables the extension frame to be used quickly and easily and in which no abnormally large play is required between the cover and the frame.

According to the invention, this is achieved in that the stacking frame is also provided with blocks which rest on the blocks of the base frame and project into the interior of the frame and support the cover.

It is particularly advantageous not to store the cover directly in the base frame, but instead to provide L-shaped filler pieces that can be screwed onto the base frame blocks and that can be inserted into incisions in the base frame and cover the top of the base frame blocks. These filler pieces take over the storage and support of the cover as long as the stacking frame has not yet been put in place because of the missing last layer of the road surface.

When the last road surface has been applied, the filler pieces are removed and the extension frame is placed on the blocks of the base frame and screwed to them. Since the blocks of the base frame are not soiled on their upper side due to the cover by the filler pieces, there are no difficulties, so that the assembly of the extension frame can be done quickly and easily.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.

The base frame --1-- has incisions --9-- and blocks --3--, which are provided with a vertical hole --8 -. The anchoring of the base frame - l - in the road surface takes place in such a way that its upper edge is flush with the provisional ceiling.

The arrangement of slots --9-- in the base frame, in which the extensions -10- of the extension frame --11-- engage, increases the height of the frame that is below the thickness of the cover
