   Der den Gefässrand umgebende Ring 3 dient ausser zur Verreibung der Riegel. auch als Handgriff beim Transport der Kanne u. dgl. und zum Schutz der Mündung. 



   Die Federn 9 können in an sich bekannter Weise durch starre Teile ersetzt werden, in welchem Falle dieselben jedoch nur bis zur Mitte des Deckels reichemund sodann einen bei 10 aufruhenden Doppelhebel bilden, dessen äusseres Ende die Tendenz erhält, in die Höhe zu steigen, wenn das innere Ende niedergedrückt wird. Es ist ferner ohneweiters möglich, die Exzenterachse 12 durch eine Schraube, einen Keil, einen Kniehebel oder dgl. zu ersetzen. 



   Der Vorteil des beschriebenen Verschlusses besteht in der Einfachheit der Konstruktion, in der Sicherheit der Wirkung und endlich darin, dass, wie beschrieben, mehr als zwei Riegel ohneweiters angewendet werden können, wodurch der Deckel an mehr als zwei Stellen niedergedrückt und demzufolge sicher gedichtet wird.
