The invention relates to a device for guiding a web of material between a drum rotating at constant peripheral speed, from which the web of material is unwound, and a non-uniform, in particular intermittent reciprocating treatment device for the web, for example a device for gluing the web of material to the Printing blanket of a film printing machine with flat stencils.
In such film printing machines, the web of material glued to the printing blanket has to stand still during the printing process and then be moved on relatively quickly after this. The web itself is usually supplied as a bale of goods which is stored on a docking carriage by means of a docking roller. The bale of goods itself can have considerable dimensions and thus a high mass moment of inertia. If this docking roller is now driven in time with the movement of the web of material in the printing machine, very considerable inertial forces occur, which pose a wide variety of problems in construction and operation.
It is also often not expedient to drive the bale of goods at a constant circumferential speed and to let the bales of goods sag between the drum and the treatment device, because on the one hand the changing passage also changes the tension, which has a negative effect on the print quality, and on the other hand the material web in many ways does not have the strength at all to absorb these stresses.
To avoid the disadvantages mentioned and to guide the material web gently, it is proposed according to the invention that a conveyor device, known per se, constructed in the manner of a toggle lever, with an endless conveyor belt for the material web, which is guided over at least two deflection rollers, is provided between the drum and the treatment device. and that the conveyor belt can be driven with the circumferential speed of the drum and that one deflection roller is mounted on the treatment device, the other on the machine frame, preferably displaceably in the radial direction with respect to the drum.
This makes it possible, on the one hand, to produce the bale of goods with a diameter that is only reduced or
-drive enlargement changing speed, so that inertia forces practically do not occur, on the other hand, the web is guided essentially tension-free, since it rests on the conveyor belt and this absorbs all tensions.
A conveyor device constructed in the manner of a toggle lever has become known from British Patent No. 760,103. The possibility of movement achieved in this way serves in the calender described therein to make the calender roll accessible while the machine is at a standstill. In the device according to the invention, the toggle lever performs a periodic movement during operation for the purpose of avoiding constant accelerations and decelerations in the speed of the drum and thereby preventing the occurrence of inertial forces.
In principle, it would be possible to simply let the conveyor belt sag between the two deflection rollers. However, in order to achieve proper guidance and entrainment of the conveyor belt, it is proposed in a further embodiment of the invention to provide a rocker which consists of two articulated frames. In this case, not only the two deflecting rollers are preferably mounted, but also further deflecting and tensioning rollers. A particularly short path of the tension roller is achieved if one of the additional rollers is attached coaxially to the pivot axis of the two frames.
For the drive of the conveyor belt, it is proposed that it be removed from a roller of the treatment device, since this is the easiest way to achieve practically perfect synchronization of the web of material with the conveyor belt.
The invention will now be explained in more detail using the figures in an exemplary embodiment. However, the protection is not intended to be limited to this possible implementation of the concept of the invention, and the reference numbers are also only intended to be explanatory.
FIG. 1 shows a schematic view of a device according to the invention in a film printing machine with flat stencils, FIG. 2 is the same device in a different position.
The printing blanket - 1 - of a film printing machine for flat stencils is guided in a known manner over two deflection rollers --2--, only one of which is shown; likewise, the printing device itself cannot be seen in the figures. The printing blanket is moved intermittently by a repeat length by a device (not shown) in the direction of the arrow --A--.
A frame --3-- is moved back and forth by a control device in the direction of the arrow - B - so that its relative speed in relation to the printing blanket remains essentially constant. On the
