EMI1.1
The invention relates to a further embodiment of the method for cleaning corks according to patent no. 28312. The corks are dry-heated to a temperature between about 80 and 100 ° C. before, during and after disinfection to carry out an effective disinfection for the purpose of opening the pores of the bark so that the disinfectant gas (formaldehyde or ozone) can penetrate the cork and keep it warm and dry for subsequent impregnation with paraffin etc. like. To get.
So now the disinfection even more effective and faster and also the expulsion

occasionally made a moistening. This improvement thus brings the advantage of an increase in the disinfecting effect of the gas as well as a complete and rapid expulsion of the same while at the same time preventing the cork from drying out too much and a considerable saving of time.
To carry out this method, the apparatus A, shown partially in section in the drawing below, is provided with a heating jacket w and inside a wire basket serving to hold the cork. K is arranged, which is with a Schleuder0 "device C in connection.
The apparatus A is also equipped with closable nozzles and d, which are connected by pipelines to a formaldehyde generator F or a steam line D, and also has a lockable pipe connector l with a filter f for air inlet and two lockable with screw caps s Openings a to the outlet of the displaced gas. In order to carry out the subsequent impregnation of the cork with paraffin, a distribution pipe v, which is connected to the container P containing the paraffin by a pipe 1 ″, is arranged inside the apparatus under the lid.
The process is as follows: After the Korê il apparatus are heated, the disinfectant gas, e.g. B. formaldehyde, introduced through pipe socket 9 into the apparatus, the wire basket K is thrown by actuation of the drive C. This drives the gas through the cork. After the sterilization has taken place, pipe socket g is closed and pipe socket l is opened, and the closure of the openings a is removed and the wire basket 7t ″ is again thrown, whereby fresh ones are free of germs through filters /

is displaced from them and promoted to the outside through a.
During this degassing, time is taken to prevent the corks from drying out.

the cork opens the pipeline r leading to the container of the impregnation compound, whereupon the compound is distributed through pipe r to the cork by slowly turning the wire basket K and by the subsequent rapid spin of the wire cage KindieKorke is pressed in and the Übors''huH is pushed off.
