or14 - and at the same time serves to transfer pressure from the pressing device to the workpiece. If the hose - 17 - is fed with compressed air or the like, the solid veneer edge --13, 14 - is pressed firmly against the workpiece --3-- and is heated at the same time. The restraint is released by changing the hose feed accordingly. One tube of each piston-cylinder device can also be replaced by a spring.
In the case of automatic or semi-automatic operation, it is advisable if the valves provided for the hoses --11, 12-- of the clamping device are instantaneous for clamping, delayed for releasing and the valves provided for the hoses --17, 18-- of the pressing device are pressed delayed and are actuated without delay to release the pressure, so that the veneer or solid edge pressing device is only switched on when the workpiece is already or still securely clamped. Furthermore, it is conceivable to arrange housing 7 or 15 in a stationary manner and to move the part 8 or 16 in a piston-like manner and to bring it into engagement with clamping jaws or the like through recesses in the cylinder housing.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the basic arrangement is the same as in the case of FIG. 1. What is different, however, is that the clamping device instead of two individual hoses

EMI3.2
The hoses - 12 'and 12 "- for the retrieval do not need to have the entire length of the machine like the pressure hoses but can be kept shorter in accordance with the lower return force. The pressure hoses - 11', 11" - have proven to be It has been proven expedient to use separate individual hoses which are closed off at one end by a stopper (not shown in detail). However, since these plugs at the ends of the hoses --11 ', 11 "- take up quite a lot of space, the partition wall - 8 - is cut out accordingly. This would, however, leave room for further plugs of the hoses --12'- and 12 "- no longer sufficient.
For this reason the parts - 12 ', 12 "- are formed by a single hose which is led back along the partition wall --21 - and at the rear end through an opening in this wall, also not shown in detail.
With the means described, a very effective, light, reliable and quick-to-use edge banding press is provided, which is also characterized by a long service life.
