<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
Bremserregung steuernden Transistors verbindbar.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
EMI7.3
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

of the mentioned centrifugal switch too imprecise. If the driven part is braked too much when the drive is switched off and the whole machine is then accelerated again by energizing the clutch winding, the acceleration process can go so far that the machine overruns its intended standstill position several times because the switching element that defines this position does not have a timely or emits sufficient stopping impulse. In addition, the acceleration is with
Re-energizing of the clutch varies greatly, depending on the type of material to be processed and the changing mode of operation of the machine, for example in sewing machines also by their number of stitches, stitch width, etc., so that different work processes occur
Acceleration values occur.
This also creates the risk of multiple overflows
Stopping position and only a relatively low stopping accuracy can be achieved.
In a known solution of the second type, after initiating the shutdown process, the braking excitation is reduced to a certain partial value by means of a program-controlled relay arrangement and at the same time the clutch excitation is made dependent on an influencing transistor whose control circuit is connected to a speed measuring generator coupled to the machine. Here, the machine speed is regulated to a reduced level
Intermediate value through speed-dependent change in the clutch torque at a constant
Partial braking torque.
A variant of this arrangement does not contain the transistor in the excitation circuit
Clutch, but rather in the exciter circuit of the brake, and the machine speed is regulated by changing the braking torque as a function of the speed with the clutch excitation reduced to a certain partial value, i.e. with a constant partial clutch torque. This too
Solutions are unsatisfactory because the always somewhat fluctuating frictional torque of the clutch used for control or the brake used for control causes a certain uncertainty in the control loop.
The invention is based on the object of eliminating these deficiencies. She pulls the
Friction clutch and the friction brake together and at the same time to regulate the machine speed to the required intermediate value. It thus achieves that on the one hand the control effects of both elements add up to a stronger overall effect and on the other hand irregular frictional fluctuations of one or the other element, which do not coincide in time with those of the second element, are also recorded by the control effect of the latter, so that So the control of the clutch and the control of the brake complement each other in the result and make this practically independent of the fluctuations mentioned.
This means that the possibilities opened up by electronic control by transistors for precise control of the shutdown process can only be properly used, since the control speed is increased and the control is stabilized against vibrations.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the transistor located in the clutch excitation circuit is fed with its base via the switch operated when the stopping process is initiated to a voltage that is incorrectly proportional to the excitation current in the brake circuit and the base of the transistor located in the excitation circuit of the friction brake via another Contact of said switch is connected to the connection point of the two control voltage sources, both oppositely connected, contained voltage divider circuit, that thereby the brake and the clutch act jointly and simultaneously on the running of the driven part, giving it a constant residual speed until, caused by the Synchronizer control voltage,
the brake is energized to its full effect while de-energizing the clutch, thereby stopping the driven part in the angular position determined by the synchronizer.
The arrangement made in this way also ensures that when the drive is stopped, the speed is initially slowed down with a smooth transition to a previously adjustable lower value and that this residual speed is precisely maintained until the transistor that controls the braking excitation is fully controlled by a pulse from the synchronizer and thus the brake is fully excited, so that the machine is stopped in the desired position.
The arrangement according to the invention has the effect, after the machine is shut down, that the braking excitation remains effective in the predetermined position. This makes re-turning by hand more difficult and possibly impossible.
According to a further development of the invention, the object is achieved to improve the mode of operation of the arrangement according to the invention even further, such that a further adaptation of the circuit arrangement according to the invention to the various tasks and operating conditions when stopping electrical drives, in particular sewing machines, is achieved. According to the development of the invention, this is achieved in that for brake release in the circuit between
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Brake transistor and brake excitation a relay operating with a switching delay is arranged.
This has the effect that after the machine has been stopped and the
Switch-off delay the relay opens the connection to the brake transistor and thus releases the brake.
The machine can now be turned further by hand, for example by means of a handwheel.
According to a further development of the invention, the base of the transistor exciting the clutch is connected to the emitter circuit of the via a series connection of a resistor and a Zener diode
Brake excitation controlling transistor connectable.
This coupling of the transistor controlling the clutch excitation to the braking transistor ensures that the adjustable residual speed is kept constant in a particularly simple manner.
A known inductive control head with a fixed winding and a control disk connected to a machine part with a contact-free control sector is advantageously used as the synchronizer. Due to the arrangement according to the invention, the contact-free sector of the control disk can advantageously be dimensioned so small that a
Stopping process with an accuracy of: t30 is achieved.
It is advantageous to provide a transistor amplifier known per se for the control pulse voltage supplied by the synchronizer. According to a further feature of the invention, switching means for temperature compensation can be used in a manner known per se for one or more or all of them
Control transistors are assigned. A variable resistor is expediently used to set the desired residual speed.
In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the generator is via a
Voltage divider connected to the supply voltage source.
A particularly advantageous embodiment results when the rotor of the generator on the
Machine shaft is attached, on which the control disk of the inductive control head is arranged.
With such a design of the arrangement according to the invention, the winding of the generator can be arranged over this machine shaft, so that a compact, wear-resistant structure results.
In the device according to the invention, a so-called thread cutter can be switched on. In the case of individual types of thread trimmers, a movement of the corresponding
Machine part necessary to put the thread cutter into operation. Here, too, maintaining the braking excitation would interfere after the machine was shut down. With the according to the invention
There is also the possibility that the relatively hard transition there from the normal speed to the residual speed during the shutdown process causes the control to overshoot, so that braking to zero takes place without the predetermined position being reached and subsequent acceleration being necessary .
To operate a thread cutter, a relay is also provided, the excitation of which is controlled as a function of the braking excitation. This ensures that when the thread trimmer is switched on, it initially remains ineffective until the corresponding relay is excited as a function of the brake excitation and the thread trimmer magnet is also excited. Regardless of the time at which the thread cutter is actuated, the actual cutting process only takes place after the machine has been shut down.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention results when this aforementioned relay is connected to a second relay in an "AND" circuit, such that excitation can only occur when the machine is stopped in the upper needle dead center position is done. If a thread cutter controlled by cam disks or the like is used, the machine must be turned to operate it.
The use of such thread trimmers is made possible in a further development of the invention in that an additional relay is provided for switching off the control heads, which triggers an excitation of the clutch winding to further rotate the machine by one revolution, an RC element also being provided for de-energizing this relay so that the control heads are switched on again after the shutdown and the cutting process.
A particularly expedient embodiment of the subject matter of the invention results from the fact that different working speeds can optionally be set. This is achieved in that switchable resistor arrangements for setting preselectable rotational speeds are provided in the circuit of the transistor controlling the braking excitation.
To flatten the transition from normal speed to residual speed mentioned at the beginning, it is further proposed according to the invention to provide a control element, preferably an R-C element, in the collector circuit of the transistor controlling the braking excitation. The effect of this control element
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
causes a softer course of the braking process and accelerates the stopping process in that one rotation, which is necessary when the stopping process is initiated shortly after the machine has passed through a stopping position, does not have to take place over the entire time in the lower residual speed, but on At the beginning of the process, part of this revolution is still running at increased speed, for example double or triple the remaining speed.
A particularly advantageous mode of operation results when the threshold voltage of the transistor controlling the braking excitation is set higher than the threshold voltage of the transistor controlling the clutch excitation. This means that when the speed of the machine changes, only the clutch excitation is initially reduced and the brake excitation is only activated when the speed of the machine fluctuates sharply.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the control processes are carried out by means of a set of contacts that can be switched by a foot-operated actuating device. This device ensures that the entire contact arrangement can be accommodated in a foot control part. This embodiment according to the invention allows the contact set to be designed in the form of contact groups which can be switched by means of mechanical actuators which become effective one after the other and which are assigned to individual contact set groups.
Further details and advantages of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawings, which schematically show exemplary embodiments of the invention. In this case, switching elements which are necessary per se but which do not belong to the invention are omitted. 1 shows a first embodiment of the arrangement according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment, FIG. 3 shows a modified embodiment according to FIG. 2, and FIG. 4 shows an embodiment of the actuating device for the contact set groups.
In the device according to the invention, magnetic windings MK and MB are provided for actuating the clutch or the brake. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the clutch winding - MK - is controlled by the transistor - Tjo, - and the brake winding --MB - by the transistor --T102--.

one - G - connected to the base circuit of the transistor Tioz. In the exemplary embodiment shown, this generator-G- is connected to the supply voltage source via the voltage divider --R117 and R118--.
A rheostat --R120-- can be provided in the supply line to the generator-G.
The control head - S - can be designed in the form of an inductive pulse generator, through whose control fork a disk with a control recess passes. As soon as the recess passes the control fork, a pulse is emitted from the control head-S-.
The function of the illustrated circuit arrangement according to the invention is as follows: The switches - -S 10 and So - are open during the working process; H. the entire brake side with the transistor - Tio -, the magnet winding - MB - and the control device no longer has any influence on the function of the machine via the clutch. About a resistance Rio? or.

Depending on the resistors that are switched on - Rio 7, Rjo8 - can optionally be controlled to a greater or lesser extent, which also changes the magnetic excitation of the winding --MK-- and thus the coupling force. This means that the speed of the machine can be regulated with this device. If the work process is now ended, i. H. If it is now to be switched off, switch --S30-- is opened

The base of the coupling transistor --T101-- is now connected to the

If the desired end position has not yet been reached at this moment, the synchronizer does not deliver a pulse, i.e. H. the transistor - T, 03-- is not opened and the generator --G-- now keeps the speed at the previously adjustable value, e.g. B. 200 rev / min.
This takes place in the following way: If the speed wants to rise above this specified value, the generator controls the transistor - T, 02 - further by emitting a correspondingly higher voltage at this higher speed, i.e. H. the braking effect is stronger. At the same time, the

Braking excitation is reduced and again via the coupling o 9 and Z- the transistor --T i o - is controlled more strongly, so that the clutch excitation is also increased. In this way, the previously set speed is kept constant. This control process or the continuation
EMI5.3
The design is such that when the brake winding - MB - is fully excited, the magnetic coupling is completely disabled.
This ensures that the synchronizer can no longer overflow. The contact-free recess of the disk of the inductive transmitter, which is connected, for example, to an arm shaft, can be reduced in size, so that a parking accuracy with a tolerance of t 30 can now be achieved. In previously known devices for stopping a drive in a predetermined position, the recess in the contact disk of the inductive transmitter had to be kept much larger so that if the residual speed was too high, it would not overflow and shutdown at all. The invention makes it possible to end the shutdown process at least after one revolution.
The low, constant speed that can be set according to the invention has the effect that a safe shutdown is made possible even with a small contact section in the pulse disk of the inductive transmitter. The resistor - -R120-- can also be provided as a fixed resistor or as a trimmer resistor, which is set from the outset for a specific work purpose.
The drawings show another possible embodiment in which the generator --G-- is connected directly between the output of the amplifier of the positive supply voltage.
EMI5.4
Bias is reached. However, this premagnetization does not occur during the normal work process, namely when switch --S10-- is open. This premagnetization is particularly advantageous because the circuit, which is very sensitive per se, works with such a short delay that the braking would possibly follow the half-waves of an alternating current generator-G-, which could then lead to noise.
It is therefore advisable to use a DC voltage generator or AC generator with a large number of poles and a downstream bridge rectifier as the generator G.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
In the practical implementation of the arrangement according to the invention, the rotor of the generator --G-- is attached to the machine shaft on which the contact disc of the control head - S - with the inductive transmitter is also arranged. The generator winding can then be wound onto a stationary coil that surrounds the shaft, and this mechanical separation means that there are no signs of wear. The relatively high voltage delivered by the generator - G - at the beginning of the braking process, due to the high speed that is still present, is for the transistor
EMI6.1
voltage required to turn on the transistor in the order of magnitude of 0.5 V.
The rest is dropped at the resistor --R120--, so that regardless of the level of the speed, i.e. regardless of the level of the voltage output by the generator, there is no risk of a voltage breakdown for the transistor - Tio2--.
The entire control device is advantageously connected together with the motor to form a structural unit.
In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 2 and 3, the clutch winding --MK-- is controlled by the transistors --T4 and T - and the brake winding --MB-- by the transistors T3 and T 6.
The excitation of the magnetic coupling - MK - during operation is controlled by regulating the base current of the transistor --T4--. For this purpose, the base of the transistor --T4-- receives a control voltage, which is composed of a pulse supplied by the control head --O or U and amplified in a transistor amplifier known per se --T1, T2-- and, on the other hand, one of a generator - G - supplied voltage.
The control heads - 0, U - can be designed in the form of inductive pulse generators, through whose control fork a disk with a control recess passes. As soon as the recess passes the control fork, a pulse is emitted from the associated control head.
Contacts 1-2, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12 are located in the actuation part. If necessary, a relay RSi is excited via the contacts --7-8 -. This relay controls contacts - rsl, - in the excitation circuit of the magnetic coupling - MK - and (in opposite directions) a contact - rsl "- in the control circuit of the brake excitation - MB--.
The relay - RSI - has a switching delay device consisting of a transistor - Tio - and an R-C element --RV-CV--.
There is an additional RC control element in the collector circuit of the braking transistor --T3--
EMI6.2
Control heads from a lower holding position to an upper holding position and vice versa possible.
Another relay - RS3-- operates a magnetic thread trimmer-F-- which is supplied with the normal mains voltage. Such a process is triggered by means of a --Si- switch.
The switchable resistor arrangement - R7 and R8 - is used to selectively set a certain working speed.
The mode of operation of the arrangement according to the invention according to FIGS. 2 and 3 is explained in more detail below with reference to the individual movement states:
First, a slow speed level is switched on, contacts --1-2, 9-10, 11-12 - are open and contacts 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 - are closed. Because the contacts --1-2-- are open, the control heads --O, U-- remain disconnected from the rest of the circuit via the transistors Tl and Tut-vos. The generator - G - generates a voltage that is applied to a voltage divider consisting of the resistors --R4 and Rs--.
A voltage is picked up at the potentiometer - R4 - which causes the following: If the generator is running at the desired speed, the transistor --T4-- and thus the clutch is controlled to a certain level via --R6--. The transistor - T3 -, whose threshold voltage is higher than the threshold voltage of the transistor - T -, is not activated, so that the brake is not energized. The contact - rsl, - is closed because the relay - RSI - remains excited via the closed contacts - 7-8 - and the transistor - TIo.
Now changes the load of the machine, it is z. B. lower, the speed of the generator - G - and thus its output voltage increases. The base of the transistor - T4--
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
is set higher in terms of potential, the voltage at the collector of - T4 - rises and the transistor --T9 - is then less controlled, which reduces the clutch excitation. In the event that the speed increases very sharply, the voltage threshold at the transistor - Ta-- is exceeded, with the result that the voltage at -Ri, R - increases; it controls the transistor Tg-off and the brake is activated. This ensures that the machine falls back to the previously set speed.
In the opposite case, if the speed drops due to an increase in the load, the potential of the transistors - T4 and T3 - immediately slides down, the brake is de-energized and the clutch effect is increased until the old state is reached again.
With the arrangement according to the invention, this results in an automatic self-regulation of the speed according to the existing load conditions, whereby the speed remains constant.
EMI7.1
so that the speed can also be changed.
At a further slow level --3-- the contacts --1-2, 3-4-5, 9-10, 11-12- are open, while the contacts 5-6, 7-8- are closed. Here, too, the additional insertion of the resistor --Ra - in the voltage divider circuit results in a further potential shift, so that in this position there is a third speed which, as previously described, is kept constant.
When setting the full working speed, contacts-1-2, 3-4-5-6, 9-10 and 11-12-are open, while contacts -7-8-- remain closed. In this contact position the generator voltage is completely separated from the voltage divider by opening the contacts - 5-6. The transistor --T4 - is blocked and thus the clutch is fully excited. The transistor twist is also fully blocked so that the brake does not receive any excitation current. In this state, the clutch is fully engaged and the machine is running at its highest speed.
When the machine is stopped, the contact position shown in FIG. 2 is obtained.
The switch-off delay via the transistor --T10-- and the following RC element - means that the contact -rsl "- remains closed, although the contacts
EMI7.2
Brake fully energized. When the braking process is initiated - Tg - is fully controlled since the capacity-Cj-is not yet charged. Therefore the brake is also fully excited. After the corresponding time constant of the RC element, the capacitor Ci is fully charged, the resistor Ri becomes effective and the transistor --T3-- is no longer fully controlled.
This reduces the braking effect.
In the worst case, for example, if a slot of the respectively switched-on control head --U or O-- has just passed the head, the machine continues to run at greater speed, so that the total braking time is shorter. Another advantage of the RC control element in the collector circuit of transistor --T3-- is that it prevents overshoot. Without the control element in the collector circuit of the transistor --T3 - it could happen that the braking is carried out to zero and the machine has to be accelerated again. Such a phenomenon is avoided by the control RC element inserted according to the invention.
This control element is so dimensioned that after a certain time, namely when the machine speed has dropped to approximately one third of its maximum value, the control of the brake is somewhat reduced. This ensures that the speed, depending on the time, only decreases linearly by up to about a third of its value and then runs in a gentle arc into a certain residual speed, which is determined by the voltage on the voltage divider --R4-- or the resistor - set voltage thresholds is determined. If the desired holding position has now been reached at one point, i. H. If the control head-U-comes into effect, then the transistors
EMI7.3
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
The RC control element thus causes a softer course of the braking process and also has advantages in terms of time, namely that the one revolution, which in the worst case still has to take place, does not take place during the entire time with the lower residual speed, but rather a part at the beginning of the process this revolution still runs at speeds up to twice and three times the remaining speed.
If the machine is now stopped, the relay-RSi-drops, opens the contact-rsi and thus releases the brake. The machine can thus arbitrarily, e.g. B. by hand, are rotated.
In order to lock the clutch side with certainty, the corresponding contact-rsl,-is now closed.
If the other standstill position is set, then all contacts are closed and the 2nd control head --O-- is activated via the relay - RSz -. The continued running and the braking process are carried out as described above.
A relay RSg - is also inserted into the circuit, which actuates a magnetic thread trimmer - F - which can be supplied with normal mains voltage. To the
EMI8.1
when the brake is fully energized and the control head - 0-in effect. This means that the thread cutter can only be operated when the upper needle position has been reached and the machine is at a standstill.
A device known per se can be used as the thread cutter, which is connected to the stopping device in such a way that cutting is only possible in the upper needle position. The design according to the invention means that actuation is possible at any time, but the process itself is only initiated when the machine is at a standstill in the corresponding position.
The exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3 differs essentially from the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2 only with regard to the thread trimmer trigger circuit. If thread trimmers are used that are operated by a cam linkage, then the machine must make a full turn from the upper stop, and the thread trimmer is then mechanically operated during the associated time.
EMI8.2
The relays - RS, and RSz - remain unchanged. The relay RS3 now works differently. The circuit of the magnet for the thread trimmer - F - is basically unchanged. Such a magnet is also required here in order to engage the cam control
EMI8.3
Now contacts - 21-23 and 22-25 -. The relay - RS1-- is excited via the closed contact --22-24--, which, as before, reverses the brake release. With the closed contact -21-23- the relay RS is excited as before. The closed contact - 22-25 - switches the relay - RSg--. Whose contact - rs ,, - makes the

Now the contact - rs ,, - also closes, so that only the lowest speed of the machine can take effect. The clutch takes full effect that

The RC element prevents the machine from being switched on continuously for one revolution at a time.
In Fig. 4, an actuating device for the contacts - 1-12 - is shown schematically.
The contacts are divided into three contact groups, namely the group - 1-2, 7-8, 3-4-5-6 and 9-10, 11-12--. The actuation takes place via a lever -26- which is articulated to a part -27-which can for example be vertically displaced. Part-27- is provided with a conical or conical control element --28--. A contact plunger is attached to the upper end. In the lowest position, which corresponds to the sewing position, all contacts, with the exception of contacts --7-8--, are open. In the middle position, which corresponds to the "down" holding position, contacts-1-2, 3-4-5-6-are closed and contacts-7-8, 9-10, 11-12-- are open. The "up" holding position is reached with further upward movement.
In this case all contacts are closed.
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
Due to the inclined control surface of the control element --28 - a consecutive
Closing of the contacts 3-4, 4-5, 5-6 achieved, whereby different rotation speeds can be set.
It can be seen from the illustration that the contacts --1-2 - and the contacts -7-8- open or close in opposite directions, while the contacts -9-10 and 11-12-open and close in the same direction, and finally the contacts -3-4, 4-5, 5-6-be closed or opened one after the other.
The invention is not limited to the illustrated and described exemplary embodiments.
In particular, the usual circuit arrangements for temperature stabilization and voltage stabilization can be provided within the known circuit technology. Furthermore, an alternating voltage generator can be arranged, whereby the connection of a rectifier bridge proves to be necessary. The control of the braking and / or clutch excitation can take place via further transistor driver stages.
The invention also includes advantageous partial and sub-combinations of the features described and / or shown. Furthermore, the invention can be used not only in sewing machines but also in controls for machine tools of all types.
