Radiant radiators for smoke consumption, especially for Oampfke8. elfeuerungen.

The present invention relates to the special design of heating elements made of refractory materials, which are arranged at the ends of the heating pipes facing the furnace.

Several embodiments of such heating elements for steam boiler systems are illustrated in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a ship's body fire with heating elements built into the heating pipes. The radiators themselves are shown in FIGS. 2 and 4 in longitudinal sections and in FIGS. 3 and 5 in cross sections on a larger scale.
 EMI1.1
Supply of the combustion air referred to. In the ends of the heating pipes 6 facing the furnace, refractory pipes 5 (radiators) are arranged.

The part of these tubes 5 protruding from the heating tubes 6 is dome-shaped, closed at the end and provided with small openings, the total area of which is a little more than that of the Robr cross section. The combustion gases now flow through the small openings, meet in the middle of the pipe, mix and burn
 EMI1.2
Length or a part thereof brought to glow. To increase the heating effect, longitudinal ribs (FIGS. 3 and 5) are fitted inside the tubes.

Figs. G and 7 show a modified embodiment of the radiator. A flat strip 9 made of refractory material is attached to the part of the refractory tube protruding into the heating tubes and is expediently wound in a helical manner. Instead of this flat strip, the body attached to the parts of the radiators protruding into the heating pipes can also have a cross-shaped or star-shaped cross-section, as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9.

In Fig. 10 is a section through a heating tube boiler, in which the
 EMI1.3
Rods 7, which protrude into the heating pipes, can be straight or twisted and beHebigpn cross-section, e.g. B. star-shaped have. The plates, which are fastened at the outer end with their broad side perpendicular to the direction of the rod, are arranged in such a way that they overlap each other with a small gap, as a result of which the combustion gases are forced to flow between them.

As tests have shown, the heating effect of the fuels is significantly increased by using the heating elements described. In particular, however, if sufficient combustion air is added, complete combustion of the fuels is brought about, so that smoke formation is almost completely eliminated.

According to the inventor, it is essential that the radiators consist of substances that are suitable for emitting a great deal of luminous rays when they are heated and glowing. Such heating elements can for example be made from a mixture of silica in the form of resin sand, clay, magnesia, as well as some lime and alkalis.

Ilicbi ('mpneh) tends to apply the magnesia to the surface of the body.
