Circumferential thread take-up for sewing machines.
The subject of the present invention is a revolving thread take-up for sewing machines, by means of which an even, strong tightening of the sewing thread and a reliable processing of the same is achieved with a smooth running of the machine.
EMI1.1
Swinging levers were mostly used, which tensioned the thread when it was moved in one direction and released it when it was moved in the other direction. By reversing the movement of the swinging levers, the smooth running of the machine was noticeably impaired. On the other hand, however, eccentric disks or rotating pins were used to guide the thread and to pull it off the supply roll, via which the thread to be guided was
EMI1.2
was reduced.
In these devices, the thread was drawn by pulling the thread over the path of enlarging circular segments or the like, the increasing friction naturally increasing the fadon tension in a harmful manner.
Finally, with all these facilities, which have since become known, the problem became noticeable that the time required for tensioning or Pulling off the thread served, a large part of the rotation time of the drive shaft respectively. the time the needle was moving up and down. As a result, there was only a short time left for the work of the shuttle, so that the preparatory work on the thread took place very quickly and consequently could not be carried out so securely, as the thread was only in the untensioned state for a short time.
All of these drawbacks appear to be completely eliminated in the object of the present invention. The thread that receives special guidance is during
EMI1.3
unwound from the supply roll.
The friction of the thread is only slight and always constant and the thread is in the rest position after the short period of tightening.

!) a part of the sewing machine head with the front plate removed in a front view with eccentrically to the sewing machine axis arranged Füllrungsschlitz and centrically moved thumb disk or. Segment.
The slot k, in which the thread going from the unwinding roller to the needle is guided, runs, as can be seen from the individual figures, completely centrally to the sewing machine axis in the guide webs o arranged on the sewing machine head. The thumb disk b attached to the machine axis a is either on its end is fork-shaped in a known manner and thus encompasses the guide web 0 and thus the slot k arranged therein from two sides during part of its rotation, or the guide web 0, which is not illustrated in more detail, is provided with an opening in the middle respectively divided.
In this latter case, the thumb disk does not need to be fork-shaped at its end, but rather the end of the thumb grips through the opening in the guide bar and, during its rotational movement, temporarily slides along the guide slots for the thread that cross the aforementioned opening. The length of the thumb disk is roughly dimensioned so that it intersects with the outer edge of the guide bar o. The length of the slot k can BEZW limited by a stop in its upper part. to be changed.
In the embodiment illustrated by FIGS. 1-3, for example, a pin BEZW for this purpose. a screw p is arranged by which the thread, as soon as it is lifted upwards from the thumb disk b in the slot, is held and stripped from the end of the thumb disk (FIGS. 1 and 3). Depending on whether the stop p is arranged in a higher or lower part of the guide web, the length of the guide slot k and thus the length of the drawn thread can be regulated or controlled as desired. changed, which means that sooner or later the

In the embodiment illustrated by FIG. 4, the guide slot is k

the thumb schciho attracted by the latter, but then immediately released again, so that processing can go on with the thread not moving.
In the embodiment of the present device shown in FIGS. 5-8, the fadon guided in a slot arranged centrally to the sewing machine axis is temporarily grasped by an eccentrically guided thumb s, lifted, tensioned and unwound from the supply roll. The thumb s1, which is supported on the segment-like disc b that bears it and is attached to the sewing machine axis a, is mounted so as to be displaceable by a certain amount

which is attached to the pin c provided on the thumb disk b. On the cam u, the pull rod d is attached, which with its other end to the
EMI2.4
ordered cam u connects.
This arrangement works as follows: When the sewing machine axle is rotated. so a and thus the segment-like disk b, the curve M in the loop t dos of the thumb s mounted on the disk b is set in rotation and is caused in the latter to move and shift on the disk b. 1n FIG. 5 illustrates, for example, how the thread y, which is guided in any manner, is being captured by the thumb s mounted on the disk b and in the

is given and slides down.
The thread will now be prevented by the outer segment-like edge of the subsequent disc b from sliding down completely in the slot k until the eye of the needle has penetrated the fabric

become completely free and so slide downwards unhindered in the slot k, so that the thread part required for the loop formation can be loosely pulled along with great ease without any particular friction. As soon as this has happened, the thumb has already resumed its position in front of the lowermost end of the slot k, whereupon the above-described process is repeated anew.
In the eccentric training of the thread influencing BEZW. A special stop in the upper part of the slot k, through which the thread is stripped from the thumb at the appropriate moment, is not necessary. However, such a stop in the form of a pin, a screw, a bulge or a bulge could also be used without any particular difficulty. Extension, through which the length of the slot could possibly also be adjustable, can be provided. Instead of providing the disk b arranged on the sewing machine axis a with a displaceable thumb s, the entire disk b could also be guided eccentrically. be moved.
In the embodiment illustrated by FIG. 9, the slot k is arranged eccentrically in the guide webs o. Here is the lead on which the segment

The mode of operation of this device is as follows: The thread 9 is generally at the lowest point of the groove k. As soon as the segment or the thumb disc b is set in rotation by the drive shaft a, captures the end of the segment BEZW.

in the latter dormant thread g. As a result, the thread is raised, tensioned and wound from the supply roll al) by BEZW on the end of the segment. the thumb disk is guided upwards while resting in the slot k. The arrangement of the slot k is eccentric with respect to the drive shaft of the Daumenscbeibc, in the sense that the BEZW on the end of the segment. The more the thumb disc is lifted, the further away from the axis of rotation the dormant thread is removed.
