   Die Wirkungsweise ist folgende : Das zu zerkleinernde Gut, insbesondere Maiskolben oder Knochen, wird durch die Gosse 18 eingeworfen und durch die gezahnten Stahlscheiben gegen die Mitte geführt, wo es durch die scharfen Zähne erfasst und zerschnitten wird, welche Schneidwirkung vor allem die ra- dialen Kanten 14 der Zähne 13 ausüben, die an der schneller rotierenden Welle sitzen, hingegen   i   die Scheiben 15 auf der langsamer rotierenden Welle 5 die Rolle des Zubringers und des "Schneid- tisches" übernehmen. 



   Man hat versucht, rotierende Zahnscheiben mit einem ruhenden Rost als Schneidtisch zusammenwir- ken zu lassen. Diese Anordnung hat sich aber als ungünstig erwiesen, weil dabei leicht der Fall eintreten kann, dass die rotierenden Zähne entsprechende Teile aus einem Maiskolben herausschneiden, während ) der Rest am Rost liegenbleibt und den Zulauf weiteren Materials verhindert. Dieser Nachteil eines ruhen- den, als Rost ausgebildeten "Schneidtisches" wird durch die langsamer rotierenden Scheiben 15 sicher vermieden. 



   Mit einer Zerkleinerungsmaschine der dargestellten Art und einem Antrieb von 5 PS kann eine Zer- kleinerung von 2000 kg Maiskolben pro Stunde erreicht werden.

   With a shredding machine of the type shown and a drive of 5 HP, a shredding of 2000 kg corn cobs per hour can be achieved.
