Bremsrolle 23 bzw.

Brake roller 23 and 24 - 26 each at an anchoring point 27 in the lower housing base 15 and are under different pretensioning, which is graded lowest for the rope block 7 and the highest for the rope block 10.
The brake rollers 23 - 26 are mounted independently of one another on a common axis of rotation 28 and each provided in their bearing bore with a ratchet toothing 29, in which a driver pawl 31, which is displaceable in a radial bore of the axis of rotation 28 and is loaded by a helical spring 30, engages for each brake roller (Fig. 4 and 5), so that the brake rollers rotate freely on the axle 28 when the extension ropes extend, while this axle is rotated by the fastest rotating brake roller when the rope is shortened.
One end of the axis of rotation 28 extends into a hydraulic cylinder 32 and carries a crank disk 33, the crank pin 34 of which drives a damping piston 36 guided in the cylinder 32 via a piston rod 35, which has a throttle passage 37 between the two fluid-filled cylinder chambers 38 and 39 .
When operating ski lifts or water sports towing systems, the endless circulating rope is in continuous rotation. At the access point, the connection between the user and the outer end of the tow rope is made, which is provided with a driver tag on the ski lift and a handle for the water skier or a hook for attaching a float on the water sports lift, including the outer end of the tow rope at the access point is held.
During this capture period A, illustrated in the diagram according to FIG. 6 with the cable path per unit of time as the abscissa s and the tensile force as the ordinate z, the tow cable stored in the device is output with only a moderately increasing tensile force, initially only with the lowest elastic pretensioning of the extension cable 19 exposed rope block 7 migrates from its starting position shown in Fig. 1 against the rope block 11.
In order to accelerate the load, a stronger increasing tensile force of the tow rope is required, which is why, when the rope continues to be released from the device, the second rope block 8, which is exposed to a higher, elastic pretensioning, moves out of the starting position, followed by the third rope block 9 Tow rope pulling force continues to increase. In the diagram in FIG. 6, this acceleration period B thus extends over two stages. When the rope blocks migrate, their extension ropes expand elastically and rotate the associated brake rollers 23 or 24 and 25, which, however, are freely rotatable on the axis of rotation 28 in this direction of rotation.
The last rope block 10 results in its migration from the starting position a last stage C of the change in tensile force in the diagram for the purpose of smoothly overcoming obstacles to travel, the tensile force increasing sharply in relation to the rope output because the rope block 10 is exposed to a comparatively high, elastic pretension.
In order to avoid a sudden run-in of the rope into the storage device in the event of a sudden reduction in the inhibition of travel, the rotation axis 28 is rotated by the fastest rotating roller via the ratchet mechanism 29-31 during the rotation of the brake rollers caused by the elastic contraction of the expansion ropes, but the Piston 36 acts as a brake depending on the passage of fluid through throttle passage 37. In particular, this brake also dampens the process of retrieving and storing the relieved tow rope by the storage device.
The rope storage device according to the invention can also be used in other cases where a coordinated, gradual rope payout and automatic, braked retrieval of the rope is desired.
