  Scheinwerfer

  Headlights
In the case of motor vehicles, the dazzling effect of the headlights is extremely disadvantageous.

The known dimming devices are for the most part inadequate, since they necessitate an almost uninterrupted stopping of the driving speed, particularly on highways with heavy traffic. The disadvantages of such headlights can be eliminated by a headlight, known in principle, as shown in the drawing. Such a headlight remains fully effective in terms of range and light intensity despite the dimming. In such a headlight, the reflector consists in a known manner of a fixed annular mirror b and a pivotable shell mirror c, which complements it to form a full paraboloid, the axis of rotation of which passes through the common focal point in which the light source e is arranged.

According to the invention, the two reflector parts b and c are connected by hinges and g, u. betw. so that the pivot points fall into the pivot axis 1-1. This ensures that the focal point of the light source remains unchanged in its position in relation to the ring game reflector b even when the lamp is swiveling.

By pivoting the dish mirror c, the glare effect is taken away from the blinding radiation core, the range and light intensity of the ring mirror reflector b, however, remains unaffected. The headlight can therefore be dimmed when oncoming vehicles become visible without reducing vehicle speed. The lamp used as the light source can be arranged in a fixed position in the ring mirror b as well as so that it can be swiveled in the shell mirror c.

The actuation of the pivoting device of the pan mirror c can, for example, by means of a cable pull i and return spring h or by electromagnetic devices u. the like.

The hinge connection according to the invention has the advantage of particular simplicity over that of the known headlights.
