tilstange 12.
14 an.

Cutting and / or planing torch with a device for the gradual advance of an ignition wire

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Tilstange 12. The latter has a longitudinal bore 13 through which the rod 14 of a smaller valve 15 is guided, the seat of which is formed by the cone of the valve 11. The cone of the valve 15 is through the
Spring 16 loaded. A transverse bore 17 leads from the longitudinal bore 13 to the secondary line 18, which leads to a bore 19 in the feed device 7. The bore 19 opens into a pressure chamber 20. A piston 21 is installed in the pressure chamber 20 so as to be displaceable against the action of a helical spring 22 which is supported against the screw cap 23. The screw cap and the piston are drilled through to guide the ignition wire 8. The piston has a tubular extension 24 on its rear side.
In the rest position, this extension piece rests on a screw socket 25 which can be screwed more or less into the feed device so that the piston stroke can be adjusted. A lock nut 26 holds the screw socket in place. In a recess 27 of the piston, driver wedges 28 are arranged around the ignition wire, which are pressed against the ignition wire by an annular spring 29. They only work when the ignition wire is advanced, but not when the piston retracts.
A hand lever 30 is articulated on the valve body 1. He lies with a cross arm on the valve rod
14 at. A narrow pressure compensation bore 31 establishes the pressure compensation between the secondary and the main oxygen line 3 after the valve 11 has been closed again.
The step-by-step advance of the ignition wire proceeds as follows: A pressure in the direction of the
Arrow 32 on the hand lever 30 first opens the valve 15. After opening the screw valve 9, the pressure of the oxygen is passed into the pressure chamber 20 via the secondary line 18. The piston 21 begins its movement against the action of the spring 22, the driver wedges 28 moving the ignition wire 8 towards the mouth of the burner head 5 until the force on the piston due to the pressure in the chamber 20 and the force of the spring 22 are in equilibrium . A piece of the ignition wire melts in the heating flame at the mouth of the burner head and drips onto the workpiece, thus initiating the cutting process in a known manner.
If the hand lever 30 is then pressed down further, the cross arm moves the valve rod 12 and thus opens the valve 11 for the cutting oxygen.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the valve 15 of the burner according to FIG. 1 is replaced by a valve 33 in the secondary line 18. It is arranged in the shaft 34 of the hand guard 35.
