Mehrstufige Sprengladung

Multi-stage explosive charge
The invention relates to a multi-stage explosive charge, at least part of which
Explosive charge consists of an explosive mixture of a highly explosive explosive and a less explosive filler.
Multi-stage explosive charges are already known for explosive devices. In the simplest case, it is a two-stage explosive charge, consisting of a detonator and a main charge. The arrangement of an initial charge between the detonator and the main charge is also known.
Independent of the multi-stage system, it has also become known to use explosive mixtures for explosive charges. Explosive mixtures generally have the purpose of stretching the expensive, highly explosive explosives through cheaper fillers, or else the fillers have special tasks, e.g. B. to act as an oxygen carrier, to regulate the volume of the explosion, to influence the extent of the detonation cloud, etc.
The difficulty involved. The result is that the fillers sometimes delay the burning off too much or even cause the explosive to burn incompletely.
This difficulty can be avoided by suitable choice and dosage of the fillers. In this sense, it has already been proposed to use a high-risk explosive, e.g. B. trinitrotoluene with a cheaper, less explosive filler, e.g. B. ammonium nitrate to mix.
The property of ammonium nitrate is that if it suddenly heats up, it decomposes explosively as follows: NH 4NOZ> 2H20 + Nao
In NO, the oxygen atom is only loosely bound to the N group and can easily be split off, so N, 0 maintains combustion.
In a similar way, other less explosive explosives, such as calcium nitrate and the chlorate explosives, provide oxygen during decomposition and are therefore suitable as good fillers.
The invention consists in that between the main charge consisting of an explosive mixture of a high-explosive explosive and a less explosive filler and the detonator capsule, an initial charge of pure, high-explosive explosives, e.g. B. Nitropenta, is arranged.
The inventive arrangement of an initial explosive charge made of pure, highly explosive explosive between the detonator capsule and the main charge ensures that the detonation process initially begins with a very high and sudden development of heat. This increases the explosiveness of the explosive mixture in the main charge. The strength of the explosive effect of the less explosive filler, e.g. B. ammonium nitrate, namely depends very much on the suddenness of the warming. The explosive nature of the filler is therefore more effective than it would be if only one detonator was arranged within the main charge or any additional initial charge was not highly explosive.
Particularly when the explosive mixture consists of granular, highly explosive explosives and likewise granular, less explosive filler, the arrangement of an initial explosive charge is very useful. Without an initial charge, the highly explosive partner in the explosive mixture of the main charge would itself have to provide the necessary heat for the explosive disintegration of the less explosive filler.

remote. If the explosive mixture has a granular structure, then the detonation speed (compared to the detonation speed of the same, which is already reduced by the filler)
Explosive in cast or plastic form) is further reduced, so that there is a risk that the filler will only disintegrate slightly explosively or not at all.
The use of granular substances for the explosives mixture is, however, often preferred for reasons of manufacturing technology. Only in the case of the formation of recesses for the detonator in the filled explosive mixture, which is done by shaking in a mandrel, must the
In the mandrel, care must be taken to ensure that the recess formed does not collapse, although the granular structure tends to do so.
It is therefore advisable to line the wall of the recess with a separating sleeve, the
Separating sleeve can be shaken in at the same time as the mandrel. Inside the separating sleeve is then the
Initial charge and the detonator arranged.
The separating sleeve should not impair the detonation effect of the projectile, in particular the strength of the explosion wave emanating from the initial charge must not be weakened by the separating sleeve and the front of the explosion wave must not be flattened. This can be achieved, inter alia, by making the separating sleeve from a plastic. Furthermore, in this context it is expedient to use a material for the separating sleeve which is combustible or even burns explosively under the action of the initial explosive charge. Cellulose acetate is an example.
The invention is explained in more detail in the following examples: Example 1: For the filling of an egg-shaped hand grenade, an explosives mixture of
100 g of granulated trinitrotoluene and 35g of granular ammonium nitrate prepared and introduced into the cavity of the hand grenade as the main charge. A mandrel is then shaken in and, after the mandrel is pulled out, the primer is inserted into the recess. The ignition charge consists of the delay charge, the detonator and an initial charge of 20 g of pure, plastic nitropenta.
Example 2: Again it is the filling of an egg-shaped hand grenade. As with
Example 1 100 g of granulated trinitrotoluene and 35 g of granular ammonium nitrate are used for the explosives mixture of the main charge. After the explosives mixture has been filled in, however, the mandrel is shaken in with a separating sleeve made of cellulose acetate attached to it. The mandrel is pulled out. the separating sleeve remains in the grenade. The primer with the detonator and an initial charge of 20 g of pure, plastic nitropenta is now introduced into the interior of the separating sleeve.
Will use a higher percentage of filler for the explosive mix. (Ammonium nitrate) is used, then it is advisable to increase the initial charge as well.
In particular, the invention can be used to advantage not only with hand grenades, but also, for example, with throwing grenades and other projectiles with explosive charges.
