EMI1.1
The invention relates to an elastic support for bridges, which is intended as a replacement for the usual roller supports used to absorb the thermal expansions and contractions of the framework of the bridge. Known supports of this type consist of two or more plate-shaped rubber layers and flat metal reinforcements inserted between them, which firmly adhere to the adjacent rubber layers. With such supports, a relative movement between the surfaces of the metal and rubber layers is not possible due to the adhesive connection.
In the case of loads in which the rubber layers are more strongly pressed together and squeezed outwards, there is therefore the risk that the rubber and the connection between the rubber and metal plates will tear, whereby parts of the rubber plates are completely separated according to the uncontrollable course of the crack and squeezed out between the metal plates can. This risk of tearing is with strongly changing loads, as z. B. occur in railway bridges, particularly large.
The invention aims to avoid this disadvantage of previously known elastic supports.
It is based on the idea of connecting the individual parts of a loose stack made up of rubber sheets with an at least approximately rectangular plan shape and metallic sheets inserted in between, which allows a relative movement between the adjacent sheet surfaces, in such a way that pre-formed rubber sheets are used which are attached to the Contact surfaces projections or
Have recesses for cooperation with corresponding recesses or projections in the adjacent metallic plates. A support according to the invention is thus essentially characterized in that each metallic plate inserted into the stack of rubber plates has at least one groove on one side and at least one rib on the other side, the groove of the metallic plate having a corresponding rib on the one Side of this plate receiving preformed rubber plate and the rib of the metal plate engages in a corresponding groove in the preformed rubber plate resting on the other side of this plate.
In this way, on the one hand, due to the only local fixation between the preformed rubber plates and the metal intermediate plates, a relative movement between the plate surfaces that largely eliminates the risk of tearing is possible, on the other hand, however, the plates are anchored to one another so that the stack cannot deform inadmissibly. The plates of the stack advantageously have at least two grooves and ribs that cross one another.
Further features and advantages of the invention emerge from the following description of an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing, which shows a disassembled plate stack in a perspective view.
As can be seen from the drawing, the support consists of a stack of rubber plates 1, between which metal plates 2 are inserted, both types of plates having the same rectangular shape in plan. The metal plates 2 are profiled such. B. pressed that they have two mutually crossing grooves 3, 3 'on one side 2' and two mutually crossing grooves on the opposite side 2 ''

of the metal plates 2 receive the associated ribs 5, 5 'of the rubber plates 1 resting on one side, while the ribs 4, 4' of the metal plates engage in the associated grooves 6, 6 'of the rubber plates resting on the other side.
This interlocking of grooves and ribs ensures a sufficiently slip-free anchoring between the individual panels of the stack.
The topmost plate expediently only has grooves on one side, namely on the side facing downwards, whereas the opposite side is smooth, so that the framework of the bridge can be directly supported without hindrance.
It goes without saying that the entire stack can also be used the other way round, in which case the end plate comes to lie with the smooth side down. Either arrangement ensures that none of the end plates have protruding ribs; however, it is permissible for an end plate to have one or more grooves on the free end face, as can be seen in the drawing for the bottom plate.

It is readily understood that the illustrated resilient support can accommodate all thermal expansions and contractions of the bridge, provided that the stack comprises a sufficient number of plates. Since the plates, with the exception of one end plate, are identical to one another, the number of plates can be selected according to the respective requirements, so that supports for different bridges can be formed using the same plates.
In general, two supports of the type described are sufficient to support a bridge. In the case of heavy loads, however, the number of supports can also be increased, as is currently the case with the application on support rollers.
