Incandescent lamp for cine film projectors
The invention relates to an incandescent lamp for narrow film projectors with a mirror covering resting on its surface.

The half of known incandescent lamps facing the projector window is spherical in the vicinity of the light filament and, with the exception of the portions intended for the exit of the light bundle, is mirrored, so that the lamp filament is depicted in itself; their luminance is thereby significantly increased. The mirrored half of such incandescent lamps facing away from the projector is shaped in the area of the luminous filament in such a way that they can be enlarged in the projector window. Due to the very high aperture of such an image, the filament structure is sufficiently destroyed so that the projector window is illuminated with great uniformity and with high luminance.

This also means that there is a very strong concentration of heat in the projector window, which would lead to its immediate destruction if the film were to stand still.

In order to avoid too high a thermal energy concentration in the picture window, it is customary to use ultra-red-permeable interference layers as mirror surfaces that reflect the visible spectral region.

It can be difficult to apply the interfering layers to the finished glass envelope. Furthermore, the life of such projection lamps is known to be very limited. If the glass bulb is the carrier of the interference layers, they would also have to be replaced. According to the invention, in order to avoid these disadvantages, it is proposed to apply the interference layer system to a carrier which rests against the lamp bulb and which is fastened to the former in an exchangeable manner.
