Holding device for electric light bulbs in vehicle headlights
The invention relates to a device for fixing electric incandescent lamps in the concave mirror of headlights, in particular vehicle headlights, consisting of a cap which is attached to the concave mirror like a bayonet lock and contains a spring which strives to hold a lamp plate against a collar-shaped edge of a Press opening in the concave mirror.
Such headlights often contain two light bulbs, a main and a secondary lamp. The attachment and fastening of a second lamp serving as a secondary lamp is particularly simple in such headlights if, according to the invention, a piece of insulating material is attached to the edge of the cap, which carries a resilient contact member that, when the cap is attached and when its bayonet lock snaps into place, against the front base contact which presses the side lamp seated on the side of the opening for the main lamp and presses projections on the base of the secondary lamp against the edge of the insertion opening for this lamp in the concave mirror.
In order to ensure proper power supply to the auxiliary lamp even when using plastic mirrors or with those concave mirrors which are coated with a layer of lacquer, in addition to the resilient contact member engaging the front base contact of the auxiliary lamp, a laterally applied contact element is placed against the auxiliary lamp base when the cap is attached second contact member in the form of a spring wire clip attached to the cap edge.
Further details can be found in the following description, which relates to the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing. 1 shows a spatial image, FIG. 2 shows a section along line II-II in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 shows a detail.
In the illustrated embodiment, an opening 2 with a collar-shaped edge 3, on which a plurality of retaining tabs 4 bent radially outwardly, is located in the apex of the headlight concave mirror 1. The main lamp 6 to be inserted into the apex opening 2 carries a plate 8 on its base 7, which has a cylindrical centering edge part 9 that fits into the concave mirror collar 3 and an adjoining annular shoulder 10.
A helical spring 12 is used to fasten the lamp plate 8, which sits on the bottom of a cap 15, which is provided with a central opening, and which is able to press the annular shoulder 10 of the plate firmly against the front end of the concave mirror collar 3 when the cap is attached to the crown of the concave mirror in the manner of a pivot lock so that the retaining tabs 4 snap into L-shaped slots 14 which are recessed from the cap wall.
On the edge 16 of the cap 15, an insulating material plate 20 is fastened by means of retaining tabs 17 and 18, on which a contact terminal 21 and a resilient contact member 22 conductively connected to this terminal are seated. A second resilient contact element consists of a spring wire bracket 24 with two bent multiple times and of unequal length. Legs 26,27 (Fig. 3). These legs are pushed through openings 28, 29 in the cap edge. At its end, the leg 26 forms a loop 30 which is bent over like a hairpin and which sits between the cap edge 16 and the insulating material plate 20.
When the cap 15 is placed on the concave mirror collar in the direction indicated by the arrow A and the L-för-
