Garnknäuel, insbesondere Bindegarnknäuel mit innerem Fadenabzug
Bei Garnrollen, von denen der Faden von innen her abgezogen wird, besteht der Nachteil, dass das
Knäuel mit fortlaufendem Abrollen des Fadens an Halt verliert und schliesslich zusammenfällt, was meist zur Folge hat, dass der Faden sich verschlingt und Knoten bildet, die den Fadenablauf stören und zum Reissen des Fadens führen können.
Es wurde schon vorgeschlagen, die äusseren Lagen eines Garnknäuels durch Aufbringen von Klebe- oder Bindemitteln zu verfestigen. Diese Massnahme gibt dem Garnknäuel wohl die notwendige Festigkeit beim Abziehen des Fadens, doch sind die letzten Lagen des Knäuels, insbesondere bei Bindegarn nicht verwertbar, weil diesem Faden die nötige Eigenbeweglichkeit fehlt. Überdies ist ein den Fadenablauf hinderndes Verkleben der äussersten Wicklungen unvermeidlich.
Die Erfindung dient der Beseitigung des vorstehend beschriebenen Mangels in der Gebrauchseigen- schaft von Garnknäuel, insbesondere Bindegarnknäuel mit innerem Fadenabzug, bei dem der eine Fadenendteil zu einem Gittermantel um den eigentlichen Garnknäuel gewunden ist und besteht darin, dass der zur Bildung des Gittermantels verwendete Fadenteil durch ein Versteifungsmittel, z. B. einen schmelzbaren oder erweichbaren Stoff auf Kunststoffbasis, Wachs, Stearin oder einem in einem austreibbaren Lösungsmittel lösbaren Stoff, wie Lack, Firnis od. dgl. verfestigt ist, wodurch dem Gittermantel unter Wahrung der Weiterverwendbarkeit des diesen bildenden Garnes eine erhöhte Formfestigkeit gegeben ist.
Ein in dieser Weise ausgebildeter Garnknäuel besitzt zufolge der Imprägnierung des Fadens des Gittermantels eine dem Zusammenfallen des Knäuels beim Fadenablauf entgegenwirkende Aussensteifigkeit, die je nach der Art des die Versteifung bewirkenden Stoffes grösser oder geringer sein kann.
Natürlich wird die Fadenversteifung nicht weiter betrieben als für den störungsfreien Fadenablauf erforderlich ist, so dass die Eigenbeweglichkeit des Fadens nur unwesentlich vermindert ist und der Faden infolgedessen nach wie vor bestimmungsgemäss benutzt werden kann. Als Versteifungsmittel können im übrigen alle möglichen Stoffe zur Anwendung kommen, die, in flüssigem oder plastischem Zustande zur Anwendung gebracht, eine Fadenversteifung bewirken. Die den Faden versteifenden Stoffe können einzeln oder in geeigneter Kombination zur Anwendung kommen.
Von einem Garnknäuel, dessen Gittermantel erfindungsgemäss präpariert ist, kann der Faden abgezogen werden, ohne dass zu befürchten ist, dass der Aussenmantel schliesslich einfällt. Die Präparation hindert auch nicht das Ablaufen des imprägnierten Fadens und, da durch die Imprägnierung die Eigenbeweglichkeit des Fadens praktisch nicht beeinträchtigt wird, kann auch der Faden des Gittermantels bis zum Schluss verwertet werden.

The invention serves to eliminate the above-described deficiency in the functional properties of balls of yarn, in particular balls of twine with internal thread take-off, in which one thread end part is wound into a lattice jacket around the actual yarn ball and consists in the thread part used to form the lattice jacket passing through a stiffening agent, e.g. B. a fusible or softenable material based on plastic, wax, stearin or a dissolvable substance in an expelling solvent such as paint, varnish or the like. In addition, all possible substances can be used as stiffening agents which, when applied in a liquid or plastic state, cause thread stiffening. The substances stiffening the thread can be used individually or in a suitable combination.
The thread can be pulled off a ball of yarn, the lattice jacket of which has been prepared according to the invention, without having to fear that the outer jacket will eventually collapse. The preparation also does not prevent the impregnated thread from running off and, since the impregnation practically does not impair the inherent mobility of the thread, the thread of the lattice jacket can also be used right up to the end.
