Method for rewinding artificial threads.
The reprocessing of the artificial silk spun in a centrifuge meets certain difficulties, especially with finer titers, in the fineness of the individual. thread and appear in the fact that the individual layers of the thread coils, which are unreeled from the outside to the inside in the usual way after the pot has been emptied, often get into one another.
It has been found that this difficulty is circumvented if the threads are wound onto a winding body which is introduced centrally into the cavity of the spinning pot. Since with this new method the thread is rewound completely freely through the air without touching thread guide eyelets or the like, rewinding speeds of 1000-2000 m per minute can be achieved with ease.
The new process is carried out as follows: The beginning of the thread (innermost layer in the pot) is pulled out, looped around the winding cylinder a few times and this is inserted into the cavity of the pot. The pot is then rotated and left to its own devices. The winding bobbin fills up with the rewound silk in a very short time, whereby the thread change and thus the winding on the bobbin is an exact copy of what is in the spinning pot. Usually the silk spun into the pot is given a simple cylinder wrap. This would mean that the winding edges slide off easily when rewinding onto the cylindrical bobbin.
This difficulty is avoided by giving the stationary coil an additional movement in the direction of its axis during rewinding, either back and forth, creating a convex winding, or moving back and forth and progressing in one direction, creating a cop winding.
After the rewinding process is complete, the bobbin is pulled out of the pot and used for the next work process, be it watering, drying, twisting, dyeing, etc. It is expedient to use bobbins which are permeable to the washing and aftertreatment fluids, for example perforated bodies or bodies made of porous material.
The procedure also allows reversal. If you want to transfer bobbin silk into a spinner for any purpose, you put the full bobbin inside the still empty pot, let it start and throw the beginning of the thread against the circumference of the pot. Held by the centrifugal force, the silk reels completely and trouble-free into the pot with the correct direction of rotation.
FIGS. 1 and 2 show a diagram of an apparatus for performing the new method. The spinning cake b has already been rewound about halfway from the edge of the pot a onto the surface of the winding bobbin c. The winding d corresponds to the one originally present in b, for example a cop winding. In order to insert the winding body into the inside of the pot and nevertheless to be able to easily remove it later and to be able to use it in further operations, it is attached to a mandrel e, the handle of which is held by a suitable device / *. This device f also serves to transfer the additional movement in the direction of its axis to the winding reel c in the modification of the method described above.
