   Fernsprechkabel.

   Telephone cables.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an improvement to telephone cables in which the individual lead wires are held apart to provide cables of low electrostatic capacity. It is already known to keep two lead wires apart by means of a rigid wire or thread made of metal or other suitable material, which is insulated from them and which is wound around the two lead wires.

The present invention consists in that the separating wire is wound around the two line wires with constant winding in such a way that it alternately first surrounds one and then the other line wire along the entire circumference, i.e. in a closed turn, or clasps them then, fortune; its stiffness, at a considerable distance from each other. If the separator wire is made of metal, iron or steel is preferable, as this increases the self-induction of the lead wires.

Figs. L and 2 respectively. 3 and 4 show two different views and sections

wire fF wrapped around both wires in one go and pressed between them so that it alternately surrounds the two wires a and b and keeps them apart, as
 EMI1.2
whichever of the separation wire d is wound around the lead wires is always the same.

As already mentioned, it is not absolutely necessary to use a metal wire as the separating wire; the purpose of keeping the lead wires wide apart will be

Treatment stiffened thread made of fiber material or any other suitable insulating material used. By using such a non-conductive thread, as is readily apparent, cables with a lower electrostatic capacity are obtained than when using a metal separating wire, because the conductive metal wire, firstly because of its proximity to the conducting wires and secondly, that it

an insulating means is encased so that it does not offer a conductive connection between the two wires a and b.
