Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Nr-17752.
EMI1.1

Austrian PATENT LETTERING No. 17752.
EMI1.1
The subject matter of the present invention is a method for waterproofing and at the same time stiffening wool felt for the production of military headgear.
To manufacture the product with the help of finishes, the following three-part process is used:
1. Preparatory work and granting the pre-stiffener.
2. Granting the actual stiffness.
3. Giving the form and finishing work.
In the first part of the process, the strong wool felt, which has the shape of a stump, is rubbed in with a sled and then heated for half an hour in a drying chamber so that the fibers are firmly bonded for the subsequent pre-rigidity and thus from the outset the impermeability of the

hours to retract the stiffener.
In this moist state, this wool felt, impregnated in the manner described so far, is placed in a steam chamber for about ten minutes, with the aim of achieving a certain strength and uniform distribution of the impregnated mass 1. so that the entire tissue Both inside and outside, can be molded into a solid waterproof product.
The second part of the process, the application of the actual stiffness, is now done in such a way that this prepared wool felt is brought from the steam chamber for an hour into the drying room, in which there must be a temperature of around 620 C, so that it can settle the impregnated mass even more firmly

dissolved by heating, whereby the thin layer that separates on top is removed. This solution is allowed to cool, leaving a thin and transparent liquid yurüek.
After immersion in the actual stiffener produced in this way, it is subsequently exposed to a steam chamber for about five minutes, in order to
