   Einrichtung zur Kontrolle von Vakuum-Metern. 



   In allen jenen Fällen, in welchen man zur Kontrolle der Beständigkeit eines bestimmen Vakuums einen Vakuum-Meter anwendet, tritt der Übelstand ein, dass der letztere bei wechselndem, äusserem   Luftdrucke   verschiedene Werte anzeigt, so dass man nicht in der Lage ist zu konstatieren, ob dem Schwanken des Vakuum-Meters eine Änderung des Vakuums oder eine solche des Luftdruckes zugrunde liegt.

   Um diese Änderungen jederzeit auf die richtige Ursache   zurückführen   zu können, wird im Sinne der vorliegenden Neuerung, wie aus der Zeichnung ersichtlich, mit dem Vakuum-Meter a ein Normal-Barometer b in der Weise kombiniert, dass letzteres durch die Schraube c in seiner Höhe verstellbar ist und bei Beginn des Betriebes resp. der Beobachtung derart verschoben werden kann, dass das Ende der Quecksilbersäule des Normal-Barometers mit dem Ende der Säule des Vakuum-Meters in einem Niveau steht, worauf die Angaben beider Barometer abgelesen werden.

   Die auf Änderung des Vakuums basierenden Schwankungen des Vakuum-Meters werden sich daher von den auf Änderung des Luftdruckes beruhenden dadurch unterscheiden, dass bei ersteren das Ende der Quecksilbersäule des Normal-Barometers in Ruhe verbleibt, während im letzteren Falle das Steigen und Sinken der Säule des VakuumMeters im gleichen Masse wie das Steigen und Sinken der Säule des Normal-Barometers stattfinden wird, so dass bei Änderung des äusseren Luftdruckes allein die Enden der   Quecksilbersäulen   beider Barometer im selben Niveau verbleiben.
