    Verfahren zur Erzeugung von Leichtbauplatten u. dgl. aus Holzwolle oder ähnlichen pflanzlichen Stoffen   
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung von porenreichen Leichtbauplatten aus Holzwolle u. dgl., spanförmigen bzw. faserigen
Stoffen, wie Schilf, Stroh u. dgl., bei welchem die verschlungenen Späne oder Fasern mit einem versteinernden Bindemittel an den Berührungsstellen miteinander verkittet werden. Es ist bekannt, zu diesem Zwecke als Bindemittel Magnesiazement zu benutzen, wobei man in Verbindung mit Magnesiumchlorid-oder Magnesiumsulfatlösungen neben der Verwendung von kaustischer Magnesia auch die von kaustische Magnesia enthaltenden Brennprodukten, wie halbgar gebrannten Dolomit, in Vorschlag gebracht hat. 



   Die Verwendung von Brennprodukten, die neben Magnesiumoxyd auch Kalziumkarbonat enthalten und die unter solchen Bedingungen gebrannt sind, dass das vorhandene Kalziumkarbonat unzersetzt bleibt, ist aus wirtschaftlichen Gründen sehr wünschenswert, weil die hiefür in Betracht kommenden Rohstoffe, wie Dolomit und dolomitischer Magnesit, im Gegensatz zu dem beschränkten Magnesitvorkommen in grossem Ausmass zur Verfügung stehen. Die bisher bekannten Brennprodukte dieser Art weisen aber eine für den besonderen Zweck zu geringe und stark schwankende Aktivität auf und zeigen daher grosse Unterschiede im Abbindeverhalten ; dies führt bei der kontinuierlichen Arbeitsweise zu ausserordentlichen Schwierigkeiten. 



   Das Verfahren gemäss der Erfindung beseitigt diese Schwierigkeiten bei der Erzeugung von Leichtbauplatten u. dgl. aus Holzwolle oder ähnlichen pflanzlichen Stoffen, insbesondere im kontinuierlichen Arbeitsgang, unter Verwendung von Magnesiumoxyd neben Kalziumkarbonat enthaltenden Brennprodukten, insbesondere halbgar gebranntem Dolomit, in Verbindung mit Magnesiumsulfatlösung od. dgl. 



   Das Verfahren gemäss der Erfindung besteht im Wesen darin, dass zur Bildung des versteinernden Bindemittels solche Brennprodukte verwendet werden, die nach dem Verblaseverfahren gewonnen sind. Es wurde nämlich gefunden, dass die nach dem Verblaseverfahren aus 
Dolomit oder dolomitischem Magnesit erhaltenen, nur in bezug auf das vorhandene Magnesiumkarbonat, sei es zur Gänze, sei es teilweise entsäuerten Brennprodukte, die praktisch keinen freien Kalk enthalten, den Bedingungen der Erzeugung von Leichtbauplatten in besonders hohem Grade entsprechen. Das in solchen Brennprodukten enthaltene Magnesiumoxyd besitzt eine Aktivität, die weit über die Aktivität eines normal   gebrannten Magnesiumoxydes hinaus-   geht. Unter diesen Umständen wirkt der Anteil an molekular verteiltem Kalziumkarbonat sogar vorteilhaft.

   Diese Brennprodukte sind bei ihrer Verwendung als Komponente des Bindemittels im Rahmen der Erzeugung von Holzwollplatten u. dgl. der handelsüblichen kaustischen Magnesia mindestens gleichwertig. 



   Die für die Zwecke der Erfindung zu benützenden Brennprodukte können beispielsweise in der Weise gewonnen werden, dass Dolomit mit einem Brennstoff, wie Kohle, fein vermahlen, das Gemisch zu Granalien verformt und bei Temperaturen über der Zersetzungstemperatur des Magnesiumkarbonates, aber unterhalb der Zersetzungstemperatur des Kalziumkarbonates nach dem Verblaseverfahren gebrannt wird. Die Herstellung der Leichtbauplatten selbst kann bei Benutzung dieser Produkte zur Bildung des Bindemittels nach allen bekannten Arbeitsweisen, insbesondere in den bekannten kontinuierlich arbeitenden Formmaschinen, erfolgen.

The previously known firing products of this type, however, have too little and strongly fluctuating activity for the particular purpose and therefore show great differences in the setting behavior; this leads to extraordinary difficulties in the continuous operation.



   The method according to the invention eliminates these difficulties in the production of lightweight panels u. Like. Made of wood wool or similar vegetable substances, especially in a continuous operation, using magnesium oxide in addition to calcium carbonate-containing combustion products, in particular half-cooked dolomite, in conjunction with magnesium sulfate solution or the like.



   The essence of the method according to the invention consists in the fact that, for the formation of the petrifying binding agent, such combustion products are used which are obtained by the blowing method. Namely, it was found that after the blowing process
Dolomite or dolomitic magnesite obtained, only with regard to the magnesium carbonate present, be it in its entirety, be it partially deacidified combustion products that contain practically no free lime, meet the conditions for the production of lightweight panels to a particularly high degree. The magnesium oxide contained in such firing products has an activity that goes far beyond the activity of normally fired magnesium oxide. Under these circumstances, the proportion of molecularly distributed calcium carbonate is even beneficial.

   These firing products are u when used as a component of the binder in the production of wood wool panels. Like. At least equivalent to the commercially available caustic magnesia.



   The fuel products to be used for the purposes of the invention can be obtained, for example, in such a way that dolomite is finely ground with a fuel such as coal, the mixture is shaped into granules and at temperatures above the decomposition temperature of the magnesium carbonate, but below the decomposition temperature of the calcium carbonate is fired using the blowing process. When these products are used to form the binding agent, the production of the lightweight panels themselves can take place in accordance with all known working methods, in particular in the known continuously operating molding machines.
