Rolling grilles with grid elements made of sheet metal, in particular made of light metal or
Light metal casting
EMI1.1
of the corrugated profile h (perpendicular to the lattice plane, see Fig. 4) only about half that of the hollow profile. A huge advantage for rolling up the grid.
The corrugation of the profile can be arbitrary: in the form of a sine line, in angular bends, etc. Some examples are shown in Fig. 5a-5c. The number of waves is arbitrary.
To now the possibility of larger rolling grilles
To be able to make it wide is not all done with the profiling of the grid elements for the purpose of weight reduction. Another
The next step is the use of light metal for the grid elements, which metal today has the necessary strength compared to iron while being much lighter.
For wide rolling grilles, the experience that has been made with the large sun awnings for their proper storage (hollow axle with stretch rod) is also used. An economical construction for this only results if light metal is used as the building material for the grid elements. Use of light metal also for the grid bolts.
The grid elements can also be made of light metal casting, which considerably simplifies the profiling in manufacture. For cast z. B. the bearings of the grid elements with ribs can easily be carried out so that they are reinforced with ribs along their entire length. However, due to the increased weight, this design is only suitable for narrower rolling grilles. An embodiment for this is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 of the drawing.
