Device for theft protection of motor vehicles
The invention relates to a device for securing motor vehicles against theft using organs that act against the roadway. For this purpose it is known to provide locking members which are supported against the roadway in the vicinity of one or more wheels of the vehicle. These locking members exert a braking effect on this path through their friction. However, like a brake shoe, they have the disadvantage that adequate protection against unauthorized driving away of the vehicle, especially on a slippery road surface, is not achieved. The invention aims to overcome this disadvantage.
Essentially, it consists in supporting members rotatably mounted in height-adjustable supports consisting of preferably non-circular or polygonal disks or wheels which differ from the circular circumferential shape and which lift the supported part of the vehicle off the road with each revolution if it is used unauthorized. This causes a bumpy movement of the vehicle or if, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the supports are provided in the vicinity of the drive wheels, they are lifted out of contact with the ground, thus preventing the vehicle from moving. The supports thus act as a jack that is actuated by moving the vehicle forwards or backwards.
The out-of-round disks are suitably weighted at the point of their smallest diameter in order to automatically adjust themselves with the smallest diameter downwards in the idle state. To improve the engagement on the ground, the disks can be designed with teeth.
The invention is illustrated in the drawing by an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows the arrangement of the device in the motor vehicle in a schematic representation, Fig. 2 in elevation and Fig. 3 in plan. The non-circular or polygonal disk 1 is rotatably mounted at the lower end of the strong support 2, which is designed as a threaded spindle in its upper part. The threaded part of the spindle is surrounded by a nut 3, which rests between two collar rings 4 firmly connected to the body and carries a worm wheel 5, the worm 6 of which via a linkage 7, for. B. can be set in rotation by means of the crank mechanism 8.
To prevent the support 2 from rotating when the worm drive 5, 6 is actuated, the threaded part of the spindle is provided with a longitudinal groove 10 in which spring-like parts of the collars 4 engage so that the spindle can only perform one longitudinal movement when the nut 3 rotates . By means of the crank mechanism, the support can be lowered from its normal position, in which the non-circular disc must be at the minimum distance from the floor, until the disc sits on the floor.
In order to prevent unauthorized operation, the crank mechanism is surrounded by a lockable housing 9. The self-locking effect of the worm drive 5, 6 prevents the device from being disabled by unauthorized persons. However, a locking device for the drive linkage, consisting of a locking wheel arranged on the linkage 7, into which a pawl can be inserted, can of course also be provided in the housing 9.
